Snugglebunny8 wrote: »Re snowglobes I got the Bethlehem Lights Santa and Snowman ones from QVC, they are led colour changing and have tiny fan inside them (silent) which blows the glitter around inside, they are amazing, the detail is fantastic and they look and feel like glass even though they are some kind of resin, they are so beautiful and quite mesmerising - they had them in the recent Christmas show and they sold out but then had them back in. think they still have them now.
Thanks Snugglebunny - OMO, it was me who was after a snowglobe. These sound fab so I'm off to have a look on the QVC website.
Re Christmas films, can I put in a plug for Flight of the Reindeer? It stars an adult John Boy Walton (sorry, don't know his real name) who is trying to prove that reindeer can fly but doesn't believe in Santa. Anyway he ends up in Santa's village and I absolutely love it. It has been on TV a few times although I liked it so much I bought the dvd. Have also already watched the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special about a dozen times and looking forward to watching it again. When it's on DD1 and I text each other quotes all the way through it as we almost know it by heart (got the dvd of that too). It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Feisty- so sorry that you are having such bad news time after. I don't know what to say, and nothing can be said to ease the pain but you are in my thoughts. And never say never for the future..................
Nanamia- yes TWO! They are taking a little bit of getting used to but they are nowhere near as bad as I thought. I am BIONIC now!:rotfl:
I'm staying positive about SW (only part way through week one though)I'd love to get a stone off by Christmas -fingers crossed. Blimey- 5 stone-flaming brilliant!!
Bicester Village- my DD surpassed herself today. She had done her homework and thought she would be paying about £40 for her bf's shirt but ended up using her vouchers and got him one for £19.99 ! So she brought one for herself:rotfl: (That's my girl!); Had a lovely morning but then came home to a mound of ironing which I needed to clear before tomorrow when everyone's round for Sunday dinner. I don't mind ironing but my feet were hurting from walking round and round and round.............that girl LOVES to shop!
I was tempted by the gingerbread man plate but begrudge paying £3.95 p+p for a £1 item and I couldn't find anything else that tempted me- thanks though cus I love everything gingerbread man!
Hugs to everyone who needs them:beer:lovin' this site!

noodles86 - I may well try shredding paper myself as all the wrapping stuff is adding up to be quite costly.
Snugglebunny8 - I thought the qvc wrapping sets were quite good value but I'm having trouble just storing all the wrapping bits, let alone the presents
Morgy9 - Thanks for reduced crepe paper mention - think I will get some for my shredded paper if they have any in my local.
pigpen - I bought some large gift bags from B & M this week. They are really quite large. Big enough for the mountain of presents I've bought for my nephew.
Nanamia - Thanks for pots of gold suggestion. That's something I hadn't thought of that I could put together quickly. Thank you.
FeistyFidget - I'm really sorry for your bereavement and DH's health issues. I really feel for you and send you my best wishes for his recovery.
Has anyone seen any gingerbread house cutters instore anywhere? I know there are some in Ikea but I don't live that close to one.0 -
Hey guys!
I have had a really productive day, went shopping and bought lots ofpresents (nearly 1/3 bought!) and more importantly got lots of bargains!
I went in to UK Discount and bought some boxes of chocolates, double layer ofMilk Tray for £3.99 (I saw it in Tesco for £11.00) and a double layer ofThorntons Classics for £5.99 (in Thorntons for £11.99). I don’t really likethese so I am hoping they will stay intact before I give them out! UK Discountalso have 32 Guylian chocolates for (I think) £4.99, I can personally assureyou that they are yummy!
I think that 99p shop have got some if not all of their Christmas stuff out, I didn’tgo in as it was a choice between this and a bacon and egg mcmuffin!
Ooh I almost forgot, Tesco have got their gift guide out. I have not looked asI managed to drop it in a puddle!
Sending lots of safe hugs where needed and ok to do so
xx

Feisty Im so sorry life seems to be dealing you really tough blows at the moment. Hugs.
Went to work this morning, was busy but okay.
Home for lego building and breaking up rows lol.
Dinner was in the slowie so that helped.
Am off on a recce on Tuesday after work to Sains to check out toys are there as to whether its worth getting up for the toy sale on weds. Its tradition me n my friend always go and enjoy it but last year was so crud we didn't go.
Trying to organise my theatre friends chrsitmas night out. we all know each other from working at the theatre but we are now far flung with only 2 of us still there, 2 work in London theatres, 2 stay at home Mums, 1 hairdresser and someone out of theatre totally so its hard to sort a date we can all do. We love doing it though...
The only thing DD2 has really asked for is a My little pony equestrian doll, the pink one and its been reduced in argos n asda for a few week but no blimmin stock! Still keeping eye out.
Wonder if ebay will do their sunday spectacular again?

Feisty I am so sorry to hear of everything befalling you. I know nothing I say can help but you're in my thoughts.Has anyone seen any gingerbread house cutters instore anywhere? I know there are some in Ikea but I don't live that close to one.
I saw a pack in Marks today as part of their 3 for 2 but they were £15! Link
Had a lovely Xmassy day today. Went to town and got a Christmas t shirt in Primark, grey with Coca cola and Father Christmas on the front £6, to go with the blue reindeer flying over the rooftops one I got a few weeks ago. Also got the Christmas pud hat and fingerless gloves that turn into mittens to match.
Got some Halloween sweeties in 99p store.
And 80 Christmas lantern lights in B&M for £9.99. They look like old fashioned victorian lanterns and are just lovely. From the look of the price sticker they are old Woolworths stock so hopefully there won't be any problems.
In Poundland I got a dvd for a present, and two disposable festive table covers.
I also picked up a lovely Christmas card for my grandparents with a nice picture of a robin on, which was a lot harder than it should be!
Motivational hugs to everyone.Hobnobs are like marines0
