Luckily only a short day at work, I feel like a zombie.
What is everyone views on homemade gifts. I was looking as some on Pinterest last night. And although they were great, I can imagine some of them actually costing more than a shop bought gift.
I was only going to do a Homemade Gift Christmas next year to save some money. But I'm not sure now.
I don't mean hampers etc, I mean presents made from scratch.
The main ones I have a problem with was my nieces and nephew. I usually only spend around £10- £15 on them. But beings as I bought this years presents in the sale they have gifts worth at least double that. The 2 older ones have vanity cases from Boots that were £45 before the reduction. The 2 younger ones have art sets from the Disney store, and Disney bits picked up in the pound shops.
If I'm not going to make their gifts I may as well not bother making anything. I have reduced the amount of people I will be buying for anyway to save some money. No point buying for people you have had no contact with all year.
I'm just really not sure if making presents will save me money or cost me more. I can imagine more, as I will keep adding to them.
Maybe it's just my scrooge family, but most of them don't appreciate a handmade gift. Or they expect a 'proper' gift as well as a handmade one. I will always try to make a few though, just on principle. I figure if people are more than happy to buy my items, then family should consider them 'proper' gifts tooCrowdpleaser wrote: »Productive morning. Went to Ald! and did the normal shop. They have Schloer in there for 1.09 a bottle I think it was so I got 2 for chrimbo day. Then to Tesco for the bits I cant get in the cheap shop! LOL.
Listed buggy on ebay last night and lady paypaled and came and collected this morning. Very pleased and am watching a couple of wii's to buy for the kids for Christmas. Any wii people, is the balance board mainly for the keep fit stuff? If so, I wont bother with that. Im more interested in lots with plenty of games and all the controllers!
Dds decluttered to school and DH decluttered to work, poor him, he did a 16 hour day yesterday and hes off for another today
Hugs to all! x
I loved my dance mat and wii fit board. In fact I managed to slim down by almost a stone and a half when I first got the wii fitmrsinvisible wrote: »Just dropped in to say that l have had great news, my breast cancer consultant has discharged me!!!!!!!! l don't need any more check ups or anything, dancing on air.xxx

Not sure how they've snuck it in, but we finally have a home bargains about a 15 minute drive from me
Shop takeover went really wellWe technically don't open on a Monday, so was only in for about 4 hours to potter and fathom out the till. We also managed to get some great furniture bits to do up for the shop
Spent an obscene amount on Annie Sloan paint earlier, but hopefully it will all look beautiful
Here is the first furniture piece we have finished - I secretly want to take it home, but it has to stay put to pay the rent :rotfl:[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Fiesty that dresser is stunning! I want it!
Pixtotts. Ive been watching for days. The ones with the board seem to go for a bit more. This is also collection only which straight away makes your market v limited. There are tons om ebay tho. I guess we are just coming into it late as the kids are at an age to appreciate it now. X0 -
The only homemade gifts that anyone would appriciate aould be the boozy ones. I saw a recipe for chocolate vodka on superscrimpers so will do some for my sister and a bottle for me.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0
