Back again, havecut the grass, hope that is it for this year, will wait a couple of weeks and either cut again, or service the mower and put it into hibernation. Either way l'm jiggered. Lots of festive prep going on on the tread, but chez invis has ground to a cba and impecunious halt. this weeks tasks are 1) sort out this bl**dy advent thing, 2) re-invent advent 3) list items still outstanding for hampers 4) buy cards for 3 special family members.
DGS has arrived, staying the night out playing football with fiends -no-not a misprint! Got my hospital checkup tomorrow, better get a bath!0 -
OMG !!!!!
I doubt any of you would buy this from Debenhams
http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_304029810174_-1
But just incase anyone was thinking about it, I bought this in The Range for £10 last week.0 -
My task from last week is completed, we are doing the polar express and then going up to Bath for the rest of weekend. This weeks task will be to buy the advent calendar treets and make the cards that go inside them e.g. christmas light tour with mum and dad. Or dvd night with popcorn popped on the fire'we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing'0

I missed last weeks task, so for this week I will stick to something simple like wrap 3 presents
I am planning to get a lot of the remaining presents on Amazon black Fridayas have vouchers
Was very MSE and got a desktop tower on freecycle for the shop - it's 11 years old, so slow I'm wondering if it's steam powered BUT it should do the trick until money starts coming in
Take over day tomorrow - very excited![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

So I'm sitting there with a sleeping baby, when I realise that even if I didn't buy a polar bear I'm still missing some decs I know I own.
The suspense has been killing me, but our Robbie has now gone home and I have been upstairs. Where under my bed I spied a Boots chemist box!:D:D
Aw I so NEED these! I am polar bear mad and am now at the point where my collection is just too big to wrap and put away each year, so when I unpack them next month, they will be staying out for always on the new shelves, even the xmas themed ones!!!
We brought our new oven today (have been saving very hard!) its an all singing all dancing built in double oven thing, and is our joint xmas pressie! This means dh and I are only doing stockings for each other, with a total value of no more than £25, Im super pleased as I had no idea what to get him anyway!!!
Thanks to whoever it was mentioned the smurfs christmas dvd, have just pre ordered from amazon for £4.67,
and also for the Nora Roberts book suggestions, I managed to pick 3 up for £4.99 from the works!
This weeks tasks:
Finish painting my twigs
Pay studio bill
Buy and construct chocolates etc for 6 x chocolate sleighsIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Hi all slowly ploughing on with my Xmas prep. In particular collecting 'stock' for my chocolate sleighs.
Does anyone have the Lakeland cottage mould? Would you recommend it or any alternatives?

Hi All
Woohoo caught up again.
Been to Bents Garden Centre earlier today. It was amazing as always and I wanted absolutely EVERYTHING!. I only spent 18 pounds which was really restrained for me, but was mainly because hubby was there to reign me in. I am already planning to go again when he is not about to have a splurge :rotfl:
Only downside was DS spotted the Lego Star Wars advent there and now really wants it, so that's another expense.
Nanamia - Bents have loads of xmas things planned including Breakfast with Santa. I have been trying to persuade hubby to book it for xmas eve but he's currently saying no as he thinks eating out twice on Xmas Eve is overkill, (as it's a tradition that we always have our tea at Pizza Hut on Xmas Eve), but I am trying to talk him round. Your lounge sounds like you are flying along.
LalaGomay - Love the Primani jumper pics. I definately need a xmas jumper this year. I have also just read the new Bridget Jones book. Loved it, and thought the ending was perfect.
OMO - Lots of stag things in Bents, which made me think of you and this thread. Glad you found your Polar Bears, and hope your neighbours get what they deserve.
FeistyFidget - Good news about your shop. Not so good news about panic attacks. After hospital stuff that happened earlier in the year I have also suffered with panic attacks. I am seeing a counsellor for this, and have also been given various self help leaflet etc. If you want me to photocopy and post you the literature just let me know.
aliaslotte - Hamper contents sound great.
freespirit66 - Hope you are feeling better
Choccymoose - Woodburner sounds amazing.
Msgigglewick - Stocking garland and fleece blanket are lovely.
kaya1991 - Congratulations on the job
Pinknfluffy28- Hope you had a lovely break.
Crowdpleaser - No tinsel in a tangle in my Poundland either. Asked the Manager who said they have been and gone and doubt they will be in again
So pleased the house move is coming along and you could be in and settled by xmas.
Pigpen - Hello :santa2: Can believe how many you have to buy for, you must be extremely organised.
Princesskitty29 - So excited about next weeks Emmerdale. Soaps are my big weakness. I persuaded Hubby to get an extra Virgin Media box in our bedroom last year and its mine all mine. Mwah ha ha.... Kids and Hubby hate soaps and so I have them all taped and then just catch up in bed. Please keep us updated with bathroom progress.
MkGirl1981 - Thanks for the pics, they are really helpful.
wuvvies - Good luck with arm op tomorrow :A
Kelly7 - Hello :santa2:
Xmas Pudding/Mince Pie/Xmas Cake Haters - Bizarrely I eat all 3. I say bizarrely because I am one of the fussiest pickiest food eaters you could encounter and the list of things I dont eat is LONG! I do eat all those though.
One thing I totally hate is Halloween. I have always thought it is just really pointless and gets in the way of xmas being in the shops. I admit to being the scrooge that takes my kids out for the night to the cinema or bowling, rather than stay in with the doorbell going every two minutes.
Done this week :-
Bought xmas chocs - 4 tins from Asda (2 for us and two for local charities)
Bought Xmas biscuits - 2 tins from local Nisa shop
(Will probably still by Segsations for me, and an M&S biscuit tin also)
To do tomorrow/Tuesday :-
Buy Stamps
Buy this years disney bauble
Buy hubby toffee/toffee hammer from Home Bargains
Buy xmas hand towels from Dunhelm (Same as ones in Primani but easier to get to)
Buy cat food to stash in case get snowed in (got this tip from another thread I read on here)
:xmastree: xxxxAims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -

BBTHREE I have something that I call a winter box. Every week from September I buy a household item or no perishable item to put in it.
It saves me buying the boring stuff at Christmas and also means if it snows I know I have toilet rolls etc.
Maybe you could start one with your cat food.0
