Thank you so much for all of your kind words and advice about my new job/ quitting my current job - bit the bullet and got it over and done with and my boss was surprisingly understanding! So relieved :)

I went to our local garden centre today and it was so lovely and festive! Everything was pretty expensive but we picked up a couple of Christmassy Yankee Candles anyway to add to the frightening stash.

I'm going to get out the bag of presents I've picked up so far in a bit and try to make sense of roughly what I've spent so far and how much I want to spend.

I love this thread, it makes me so happy seeing everyone going about all their Christmas preparations and reading all the nice comments to everyone else :)

can i ask a personal question to those that work in tescos??? i work as a school cook and have sooooo much responsibility with staff and training and all the orders and cooking. i get 7.10 per hour and i think thats low for what i do. would anyone that works at tesco or any other supermarket tell me what the rough rate of pay is??? i worked at a supermarket 20 years ago and i loved the interaction with the public. i had no responsibility and i loved it.
im in for my op tomorrow and im all ready and sorted just praying i dont get a cancellation call!!

    Xmas Saver!
    :D:D:D

So I'm sitting there with a sleeping baby, when I realise that even if I didn't buy a polar bear I'm still missing some decs I know I own.
The suspense has been killing me, but our Robbie has now gone home and I have been upstairs. Where under my bed I spied a Boots chemist box!

Well, I've made a start on christmas....

It's the first year of being married, so trying to make it extra special!

I've ordered the turkey - well, turkey breast roast and the party food for Xmas Eve.

Also got most of husbands things - arsenal tickets for his 'big present', a jacket, a couple of tops and a cheapy DVD player as ours has broke so we need one anyway. Will probably get him a cd and DVD and some smellies if there are any on a three for two offer!

I've an idea of what I'm giving everyone and did a budget today, I should be able to get all the presents for both families out of my wages whilst still saving, husband will buy the food/drink...we should have all the presents and money out aways for food and drink my the end of November, which leaves our December pay (we get paid on the 20th) free for any extra festive spending!

I am adamant nothing is going on a credit card this year!

Really enjoying reading this forum, so excited for christmas already, I've always loved the run up and the planning, just trying to reign it in a bit so I can do a bit of shopping when the shops have the decs up - which feels much more Christmassy!

    Ooh I love that!

We got loads of vouchers for our wedding, and I've kept some back for new decs and Christmassy bits...Dead excited about going to pick them!
  • Hi everyone!

Anyone still looking for Xmas DVDs I have found 'One Bad Christmas' on Tesco for £5 with 150 cc points as it is a Pre-order until the end of today. (I use these for days out so will work out near enough free :-)) I have brought it thinking it may appeal more to my older daughter once DS has gone to bed - it is a 12. There is a trailer on youtube. It is £9 on amazon.

I thought someone with older children may appreciate. For the extra points you need to order it TODAY.
