my DS1 was 18 last december, his sister toyed with getting him some foreign currency, she was trying to find an obscure country she could make him a millionaire in and planned to get the money and frame it with a poster saying he was now a millionaire in where ever it was. i think there was a currency you could do it in for about £90ish. in the end she got him halfways on an electric acoustic guitair he was saving for.
Haha I love that millionaire idea, that's fantastic! Tempted to do it myself, it's certainly the only way I'll ever be able to say I'm a millionaire
He doesn't drive yet but my mum's birthday present to him will be money towards driving lessons so that's already covered unfortunately! Might check out the venues close to his uni to see if any bands he likes are playing in the next couple of months
Thank you!0 -

Thank you so much everyone. After a day like yesterday it's hard to keep being so positive. We will get there and I have Thomas with me thankfully (my waters broke at 14 weeks so it could have been very different).
Hugs to everyone who needs them this is such a lovely thread to get support.

Overwhelmed with my son's disabilities and the plans for the future and feeling a bit bitter too
SEQUEENA you are only human, of course you will have days where you feel overwhelmed and bitter, but anyone can see Thomas is very much loved, im sure the good days far outweigh the bad, we are always here if you are having a bad dayOwn_My_Own wrote: »freespirit I hope you feel more up soon. xxx
I really feel for you. My sons disability is nothing compared to Thomas' but I know exactly how you feel. It's heart wrenching.
My Dad once told me I had a disabled child for a reason. The reason was that God knew he would be safe in my hands. I am not religious in the slightest, but I have never forgotten it. xx
Thankyou OMO, omg your dads words made me well up, they are beautiful and very true
CAITLYN i hope you feel better soon, i am the same no matter how bad my problems are i always know there is someone worse of than me, i have instilled that into my kids as well, my favourite is every cloud has a silver lining and its true it always works out in the end, thankyou about graduation, it does actually say from a certain date you can ring a number to see if there are any spare tickets and i am probably worrying over nothing but i just didnt expect it to be like this#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Flowfy and snugglebunny- I'm back! We both survived (me and vet) the booster trip, although I now have a very grumpy cat! He is usually sweet tempered and so laid back he is nearly horizontal but come vet time-he turns into a whirling dervish! Teeth, claws, drool everywhere-and that's just me trying to get him into the basket! Mind you- even though I had trouble getting him into the basket it was nothing compared to what the vet went through to get him out! If I wasn't so embarrassed it would have been hilarious! She tipped the carrier upside down (its fabric with a fleecy lining) and still he wouldn't come out-he was hanging upside down inside! It took longer to get him out than it did to check him over, inject and weigh him! Mind you he scooted back in with no hesitation! He is now skulking on the window sill in the kitchen and screams at me whenever I go in there cus he wants to be let out (advised to keep him indoors today). He will come round later when I bribe him with Dreamies!
I must be one of the few people that don't like Lush shops- they make me sneeze like mad. I do like their products though but individually rather than en masse. My poor nose cant take it and I would rather avoid a tenna lady moment (if you know what I mean!) so I avoid the shop like the plague.lovin' this site!
