Not had a good day :(:( DS didnt make his temp job because he woke up at 5am being sick, and now is on a right downer because he is disappointed in himself, we got the invitation today for his graduation ceremony a) i didnt know we had to pay and b) we can only have 2 tickets per family so one of the girls wont be able to go, how the hell do you call that one??? Im so bl**dy fed up, i have so been looking forward to this all year (and i dont like any sort of social gathering, it makes me ill with anxiety) grrr

[

I remember when I graduated (3 years ago) you could put your name down somewhere for an extra ticket? It might be worth checking with the university to see if they do this :)

Morning-hugs to everyone xxx

Sequeena-I cant think of anything to say that hasn't already been said in very eloquent and heartfelt ways. I hope that you will start to get some positive answers from your health professionals soon and that you will begin to feel a little brighter.

Freespirit-bummer that your DS is ill so soon after starting his new job-hope he gets better soon.

Crowpleaser- why is it that we always have stuff planned FOR the kids then they fall are ill?? Hope your DD1 is better soon.

Junior J- fingers crossed for today- those pj's sound lovely!

OMO- what a beautiful thing your dad said- brought tears to my eyes.

Fingers crossed that today is a better day for everyone-despite the fog xxx

Right - as I am driving again now I'm off now to the vets with cat for his yearly booster-IF I can get him into the cat basket!!
lovin' this site!

• Morning all!

Sequeena I totally agree with what everyone else has said here, Thomas is an adorable little boy and hes so lucky to have you as his mum :)

Freespirit friend of mine had same issue of 2 tickets and they asked for an extra and explained her younger sister would be so upset if she couldnt come, as would the graduating daughter if she wasnt there, and that they couldnt leave her at home on her own as they had to stay locally overnight, they got the extra ticket fine :) I think they do keep some back for those cases and they just dont want everyone inviting the neighbours lol!

I ordered the Gordon Ramsey book for £5 last night for DS (his back up career is chef, after pilot ...) hes a great little cook and loves trying new recipes so I think he will really be pleased with it for Christmas - I also ordered Rise of The Guardians for £5 for Christmas Eve, many thanks OMO for the links and the recommendation!

Please can I ask for your suggestions? Im going to do a Christmas Eve present for my BFF and her family, which is OH and two girls, 20 and 15, she loves Christmas Eve so was going to make them a hamper. I thought about labelling them with times, such as a bottle of prosecco with 'for lunchtime' with a small box of Hotel Chocolat, then for evening a small chocolate Panettone or one of the little specialist ones you get, then for the evening a tub of luxury Hot Chocolate like Green and Blacks or HC along with a Christmas film on DVD - what do you think? I want it to appeal to all of them so I can't decide which Christmas film, I was thinking Arthur Christmas as its so funny and has a lot of laugh out loud humour and a few quips for adults in there - wanted it to appeal to the girls too. Any suggestions or ideas would be really welcome! thank you :) xx

oh have fun! Ive got two and theirs due next week, Im taking them seperately this time though as such a struggle getting them both into baskets, in and out the car etc, and the chubby one gets little attention as she creeps out on her belly, lies down pitifully on the scales, winces and then crawls back in the basket shaking like a jelly (we usually have 30 seconds about her weight, though shes on a diet, doesnt eat anything else, we play with her all the time to get her active - think her metabolism stopped when she was spayed)

... whereas the other one explodes out the basket, hisses, spits, growls and snarls at the vet .. and the extra vet who has to come in to help control her ... tries to amputate the hands of anyone who goes near her while they examine her and give her the jab ... if only they could see the smug little madam at home an hour later purring across my lap on her back like butter wouldnt melt! :rotfl::cool: they have her labelled as 'vicious' but she is only like that with the vet, she is only little and gets aggressive when she feels threatened as I think its the only way she knows, something happened to them both when they were tine I think as they are rescue cats :(

I SO do not look forward to the trip every year!

you are brave. I have 4 cats and there is no way I would take any more than 1 at a time. I usually have to wear gardening gloves and hold my head right back so they don't crawl up my chest away from the vet. as you say - they are such lovely kind cats most of the time.

if I take my dog, he usually wees on the vet. and also goes for him. and he is a lovely vet.

fun times :j

What a great find. well done!
• Ok,so I not going shopping today. I got out of the shower and then couldn't be bothered. :rotfl:
I have loads of washing to do, and I thought why spend £5 on petrol and £5 on parking when I am going shopping next week. As I said before I don't really need anything, so may as well save my money. I really only wanted to go into Poundland to look for DVDs, and the town we are going to next Wednesday has a larger one, so I am hoping to get some then.

Crowdpleaser I'm leaving the Argos 342 as well. 2 of the things I want from there are in the 2 for £30. But that doesn't work on this offer making it £10 dearer before I start even looking for a 3rd toy.
