Just remembered - I'm sure I saw in the 'Tiger' shop that kaya1991 just mentioned, some clapper boards which would be great for movie hampers. I think they were only a couple of pounds - wish I'd have known about them last year when I was looking for them for making my hampers!
This was in the Kingston branch btw.

Yes, I spotted those today too!

I also remember someone on here (either in this thread or the hamper one) is making a moustache-themed hamper. There are lots of moustache-related things in there as well, including a bar of chocolate with a big moustache on it.

I can't believe how organised everyone is! I have a lot to learn, clearly - I'm only 21 so haven't quite honed the incredible organisational skills demonstrated on these boards just yet!

Thank you all for your support, advice and kind words. I am feeling a bit more positive today and feel guilty as many of you have had things much worse. i am hoping work picks up for DH but having seen the way they allocate work am not optimistic. A text comes through saying ring the agency regarding work, DH rings straightaway to be told it;s already gone:mad:

snugglebunny your phrases are lovely and i hope they help me as much as they have you

Omo my problems seem insignificant compared with what you have been through

feisty all our food is lidl, aldi or whoopsies but I really need to get ebaying.

mrsinvisible have a fab time in London

noodles dds birthdays one day apart expensive but fun!

pinknfluffy thanks for the info about cookie dough, that is a really good price. I will have to have a look for it

msgigglewick well done on your lego feeling! I haven;t had a go yet!

crowdpleaser glad to hear your dd is feeling better. DH likes real ale so reindeer droppings will be perfect for his stocking

snugglebunny I am thinking of doing DH a hamper of all his favourite things and I think he would like the pate with chillis and peppers. well done on getting a job. I feel a bit like that I won't get a job at my age and apart from teaching french (but not a qualified teacher) I haven't worked for 15 years. I also have zero confidence in myself

mrshayes hope your ds had a nice time with his friend and that you are feeling better

freespirit I have seen those sweet trees and they look great. I think I am going to make sleighs for the boys

sequeena your ds is adorable. i remember the Thomas days well!

bunbun2 I wasn't trying to say my problems were worse, or makes your look insignificant. I sorry if it came across that way.
Everyone's problems are as serious to them.
I'm really hope your Dh gets some work soon. And I'm glad you are feeling more upbeat. xx
  • BunBun you mustnt worry about comparing your problems to other people's honey, please don't feel bad - your problems are just as important too, I really hope you are able to get something and I am living proof that a lot of places value work experience over people who are degree'd up to the eyeballs but have no actual experience, so whilst we worry about our kids getting jobs out of uni without experience we need to also look at it as positive that us slightly older ones have a wealth of experience which is also so valuable *sends you hugs* xxxx
