    Thank you snugglebunny, princesskitty and pinknfluffy for the welcome :)

    I am feeling much more positive about Christmas this year already. I will probably have to work abit on Christmas eve for the first time in a long time although i will get Christmas Day and Boxing Day off however my current job is much less stressful than my previous one so i dont mind too much. We have also agreed we are going to limit contact with DH family and focus on just the 4 of us, then anyone else we see is a bonus!

    Could I ask if anyone sees any fairly cheap angry birds bits could they let me know please? I am doing a little hamper for my oldest as he loves them. So far I have a drawstring bag, some socks, a cuddly toy and a little plastic box! Many thanks :)

    B and M sell quiet a few AB bits

    Request!!

    Does anyone have a recipe for big chewy cookies, the type you can buy from supermarket with choc chunks etc in? I want to make some and freeze but would like a fail safe recipe please. X

    I've got one I got off the Old Style board, it's the recipe for Millie's style cookies. Just made it in cranberry and white chocolate, mmmm they're nearly all gone!

    If you can't find it there then PM me to remind me and I'll post the recipe when I have it to hand.

    ah, i have had a search, is this the one?

    Millie’s cookies

    3oz butter;
    3oz granulated sugar;
    3oz muscovado sugar;
    Tsp vanilla extract;
    1 egg;
    6oz self raising flour;
    Pinch salt;
    4oz of choc chips or raisins or dried apricots or whatever you want to add.

    Method: preheat oven to 180 degrees; mix all ingredients together; put spoonfuls onto trays covered with greaseproof paper; cook for 11 minutes.

    That's the one! I use bars of smartprice chocolate chopped up to get chunks. You have to be careful how long you cook them for to get the chewiness right, but there's no harm done if you open the oven door to check on them. And I'm sure you'll have a good time practicing them!

    There's an angry birds annual out, I've seen it in Home Bargains for 2.99 and today in Sainsbury's. It was either £3 or £4.

    Xmas Saver!
    It's my day off and I am sitting here pulling my hair out. :rotfl:

    I am doing my cousins Dads family tree as a surprise for him and had an uncle that went to Scotland. For some reason the Scottish government won't let us see their records.
    Anyway, I found a tree with this uncle on but he is hidden. So I sent a message to the owner and got a reply asking for more info to make sure I had the right person. ( which I do). I have sent a reply giving more details including his wives nickname, and am still waiting for a reply. :(

    I bet he replies late tonight. When I am getting ready for bed. I am biting at the bit here to get cracking on it. :mad:

    I've got to take dd into town after school to open her a bank account. May have a look round while we're there. What for ? I don't know. :rotfl:
