  • Right just been to primarni. V unimpressed by the xmas jumpers this year. More tacky yhan funky like lasy years although once again the mens is nicer. They had woolen xmas leggings too. Red and blue I think. If I can find a navy blue knitted dress I may consider the blue ones. Best buy tho was some fab fold over xmas gloves. They had trees reindeer or pudding I think for s bargain 2 quid. Oh and I got some snowman earrings for a pound. Couldnt see the throws. They also had xmas tshirts but the quality wasnt great for a fiver.

ty for this, might make primark a trip at the weekend once dh has been paid ;) lol quite like the sound of the leggings now i've lost weight. oh and the gloves! seem to remember ours not getting the throws until november last year.

  • Own my Own what about Arthur Christmas?
FiestyFidget I agree about the price of kids toy pushchairs/ prams. I also don’t have children and have been shocked by the prices I’ve seen things like this and toy cars selling for.
Bunbun I’m currently working with years 3 to 6 trying to get experience with the older ones. Spent last week with years 3 and 4 and have been with year 5 this week. Glad to hear your DH has finally got some supply. Is he primary or secondary? I’m still hoping I can get some teaching assistant supply before placement but with only 3 weeks to go it isn’t looking hopefully. Thankfully my parents and BF are happy to help me financially if I need it as my last pay was August and at this rate who knows when me next one will be

    Junior_j sending hugs your way

Murie I’m the same, just can’t seem to get warm at the minute. My hands constantly feel like ice :(

Freespirit So pleased to hear your DS has a job. Hope it all goes well for him :T

Pinksteps thank you for the cookie recipe, will give them a go
PrincessKitty Sorry to hear about the oven, hope you don’t end up paying too much to replace it

Well after watching the biscuit towers on last night’s Bake off I’ve decided this year to attempt a Gingerbread House for my family. I usually make batches of cupcakes or flapjacks for the family but thought I’d try something different and then maybe make gingerbread men or stars or something for the rest of the family to go with their presents.

Thankyou re: DS, wasnt the cuckoo clock pretty on GBBO? I have only ever made one gingerbread house, it was for my nieces and nephews at our xmas get together, but when i got there i walked in with this blooming great big thing all wrapped in cellophane and ribbons and they said Aunty Debbie we have made a surprise you can guess what it was, when they saw mine they kept saying mine was beautiful and theirs was awful, i really felt i had stole their thunder :rotfl:

So sorry you're still feeling poorly :( With Elfster can you put in contact details? The whole problem with us needing to do secret santa away from here is because we aren't supposed to divulge personal details as it is against the forum rules - I only suggested a private facebook group as I figured we could some how swap the details without going against the forum

Thought I would reply before I lost your post in my catch up.
Yes you can put in contact details, so once it swaps who you would be getting , you can view their details.

The wish list is handy to put comments in like - no items with egg, I'm allergic, no chocolate im dieting etc in it xx

Thanks for posting the link to the Lego minifigures, I had a feel today, but wasn't sure what I was feeling for. the ladies tray could also feel like the gingerbread man, but I will have another go.

I'm finally feeling better, thanks for the well wishes. I still feel shattered all the time, but my head is clearer x

hugs for your poor DD, if she can stand it you could let her put a damp finger in some bicarb and press that onto it, it seals the surface and takes some of the pain away

were not turkey eaters either (cos were veggie)

golden rule of christmas is it should be enjoyable eat what you want.

i tried to change the soup last year as i was convinced theyd be bored with it now but there was almost a mutiny and older children threaned not to come for dinner:eek: didnt realise my soup was that nice

    our christmas dinner menu

    hm mushroom soup as starter

mushroom and stilton puff pastry tarts - with full range of veggies and stuffing
(there is a meat option for the two meat eaters at the table DS will tell be before the day what that is)

flaming pudding:D with ice cream or custard
    SPC~12 ot 124
