Afternoon everyone,
Good news DS was offered a position at (you know where :rotfl:) the lady this time was lovely and said she is a grad, and had to take a job there but now she is earning more than her grad friends, so when he gets back from being away next week she said ring up to arrange training day then a date to start will be sorted, i can tell he is a lot happier todayi think he will enjoy it he has worked in the food industry before and during uni and enjoyed it then. I was up til god knows what time last night filling my pad with my xmas lists last night but i think i am all sorted now, feel a bit ill today, cant get warm just feel chilled to the bone and a bit cotton wooly :rotfl:
NANAMIA i love that paper i have lime and purple bits in my front room but it just isnt enough, that paper would brighten up any room and mood
OMO glad you have finally got your money sorted
MSGIGGLEWICK you learn something new on here everyday i had to google iron fist shoes wow my DD1 would love them i am going to tell her about them tonight, well done on that weight loss that is fantastic i really need to do something next year
NIC/FEVERTOTELL hope you both feel better soon sending hugs

We live in a fourth floor flat so when I get in at about 2pm its freezing, then the lower neighbours are obviously putting their heating on because come 7pm I'm boiling hot and can barely stand it! Roll on the winter!

Got my Christmas 2013 Yankee tarts today though - very good service form the ebay seller, the Christmas Memories is very like Happy Christmas and Christmas Eve to me, the Marshmellow one is similar to Fireside Treats and the Snowflake Cookie smells like Vanilla Cupcake (but that is my favourite Yankee scent anyway!) Season of Peace is along the lines of Sparkling Snow, so all quite traditional and very nice0 -
This has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas, but it made me laugh out loud.

Oh OMO that did make me giggle and after today that was just the tonic I needed!0

Grand Theft Auto has arrived so my OH has taken ownership of the living room, forcing me to retreat to bed with chocolates and cup of tea and a Christmas film! Poor me, eh? :rotfl:
I am all for secret santa but can't help but feel that all you lovelies do all year is plan wonderful gifts for others and I would much rather you took £2, £5, £10...whatever you can afford and treated yourself to something wonderful! I know we all love to give but there's not one person on here who puts themselves first at Christmas and you all should for once, as you deserve it!
Welcome to everyone who has been lurking, you're all in safe, happy hands here!
Popped in to my little, local Mr Ts to see if they had the coal everyone has mentioned but they didn't so will have to try the superstore. I only ever use Mrs S (I don't like personifying them all as men!) but Ms A and Mr T get a visit over the festive period as I like to ensure I've covered all festive bases
My boss, who isn't really my boss but she's the only non-academic person senior to me, is having a few crazy days where she likes to throw her weight about a bit and imply my job isn't secure, so that's been fun. Thankfully I've been through this with her before so I'm not stressed, I'll go through the motions as always but I have already started to keep an eye out for other jobs. Life is too short to work with such a crazy specimen!0 -
DH survived his first day teaching since February. He said he enjoyed it and being on supply there is no pressure, planning or paperwork.
I was talking to my mum last night and they are coming to stay in November. I said hopefully DH will have some work by then and she said "I suppose at the moment he isn't earning any money" er no! Then she said hopefully he will soon as you have a mortgage to pay. there is nothing wrong with what she said but all this is said whilst my brother who is in is 40's is living with them. as far as i know he pays no rent as he is saving to buy a house mortgage free when he sells his current house, he has saved thousands living with them. I also know that they will give him the difference between the value of his house and what he buys. we don't expect any help but it does make me upset...
I have had a strange day as DH has been around for the past 7 months. The dog was so naughty and badly behaved. he is not like tat with DH as he knows DH is bigger and stronger and he knows who is in charge. He refused to have his lead put on when a tandem went past then chased it:o
snugglebunny that is good service from ebay. enjoy your tarts!
freespirit well done to your ds
murie your gingerbread decorations sound lovely.
cornishmumof4 and katmum welcome

OMO im sorry i cant say it any other way PMSL :rotfl::rotfl:
CAITLYN i think that is the best place to be todayoh what a horrid person you work with, why are people so nasty? My DD1 and a temp (male) got hauled into the boss office last week, someone in the team had emailed the boss accusing my DD and this temp of carrying on and that it was her duty to report it  my DD was seething, just because they get on and they are female/male doesnt mean there is something going on, and to top it all off she found out it was one of her so called friends!! The boss was apologetic and said sorry it was like being at school but DD told her she was fed up with it, its dog eat dog out there
BUNBUN so glad DH enjoyed his first day back without all the stress of being permanentparents sometimes dont see what is under their nose do they? oh god i know i shouldnt laugh but dogs are little wotsits arent they???
