  • Ah thank you, I had heard elfster mentioned. It does sound a good idea, but didn't think that we were going to create a 'wish list' of things we wanted, more would be a surprise present (after a questionaire about likes etc.) we are a creative lot, sure we could get some great gifts to send! Maybe that's becasue I'm more of a pen and paper list maker than spreadsheets and the like though!!

Nanamia I'm loving the pink and lime theme. :)

Tax Credits went in the bank today. :j
Went to Tescos to get some shopping and a few Christmas bits, but couldn't be bothered when I got there. Just bought some washing tablets to put in my winter box.

There was nothing there with massive savings, and I'm not really any good at buying Christmas goodies early. I prefer to get all the boring bits put away then get all the nice stuff in one go.
A- I tend to over buy if I do it in stages and
B - it's not often we can go shopping and put what ever nice things we like in the trolley.

Just remembered, I did get dd some chive dip for her Movie Hamper. I'll get the Doritos and popcorn nearer the time.

    Off to read back now.
  • Hello

I'm another long time lurker. I love Christmas and plan all year round, OH thinks I'm mad, lol. Am off work on long-term sick at the moment, so am in planning overdrive. Looking at making the kids Christmas pyjamas and Christmas Eve hamper sacks, might go mad and do a festive shower curtain and customise some bed linen while I'm at it.

Loving reading what you are all up to and all about your Christmas finds. x:)

    Hi
I'm a this year lurker and just wanted to say hello as I've noticed a few people who lurk pluck up the courage to do so.

I've got two young children and I so want to make Christmas special and magical each year for us now as they grow up so quickly. The past few Christmas's we've had a good meal and day but it's been ever so stressful doing it all last minute. So without realising it I obviously made a resolution to myself to change things this year and be more organised as I've been following you for a while.

So far I've managed half the shopping and got some bits for Christmas eve hamper and even starting making some cards. Thanks so much for all the links and tips and spots from all the active people on this thread. You have saved me money, given me smiles and laughs and brought me excited with your excitement over all things Christmassy. Long may you continue - well until you start up a new thread for next year. You all sound a lovely, friendly and supportive bunch.

I must admit to being addicted to this thread as I log in each day to see what's happened.

Thanks again, I'll go back to lurking now xxx

p.s. I'm sure there are lots of silent followers of your lovely thread. Hope you get a warm feeling knowing your sharing and helping others each day.

  • Sorry i should have said the lego elfs are in the lego blind bags series 11. they are in green packs. Dd1 picked up two bags today and got the same one in both.. whats the chances of that happening LOL i did win another elf and the gingerbread man both for 99p on ebay last night though yay! i'd like another 3 elves to go on my xmas cake that i have in my mind but if i don't get them i'll have to pinch the other one back lol

Big ty nanamia. I followed the sw diet but never went to group so did it all on my own.. so no slimmer of the year for me lol

Whats the fb group going to include?

I picked up a couple of tubes of smarties today.. need another two of those, and one of the choc £50 note (going to put those in the movie hampers ) so need another 2 of those, i think its 3 im making LOl. oh and i ordered a dress and a top from new look and a pair of iron fist shoes for dd2 who so kindly left a very nice picture of the items she had found and she'd love them forxmas for me to find on my laptop this morning pmsl. nothing like a subtle hint!

Did you get the iron fist shoes direct from their website? They have a huge 75% off sale and free delivery if over £50. I bought 3 pairs of beautiful shoes for £51 and saved just over £200! I know that this RRP price isn't over inflated as they are shoes I lust over a lot ;)

Hello, sorry not read back, but seen snippets of Facebook and secret Santa. Sorry if its been mentioned, but I have used Elfster for a secret Santa before in a fb group. It was great as everyone who wanted to do it just signed up, it then chose a partner for you.
You can set up a wish list if things you like so they have some idea what to get you. Again sorry if I've picked it up wrong or it's been mentioned.

I still have the cold. This is nearly 3 weeks now of feeling ill. Feeling a bit sorry for myself,

    Off to read back x

So sorry you're still feeling poorly :( With Elfster can you put in contact details? The whole problem with us needing to do secret santa away from here is because we aren't supposed to divulge personal details as it is against the forum rules - I only suggested a private facebook group as I figured we could some how swap the details without going against the forum rules :)
