  • what fab cakes and coasters!!

I've had quite a xmassy day today. i've finished off a purple elf and started knitting my new nephew/niece a chunky hoody, sat and watched iron man 3 (well it is set around xmas lol) and made a roast turkey dinner for the family.. and very nice it was too! and we've got enough left to have it again tomorrow yay lol (turkeys were reduced in our iceland and i got a 4kg one for £5, bargain for two meals maybe 3)

i've been grabbing the lil lego elf's that im hoping to use as an elf antic and some on my xmas cake this year. they are soooo very cute!

Been discussing main xmas pressies with the dh.. i've though i need to resort money out since tax credits seem to have mislaid a week of the money, seems its been eaten up in their systems :( so anything i had saved had to be used to live off. ho hum.

  • Hi all just a quick message to say I would be up for secret santa too x sounds like fun xx
  • Yes, count me in for secret santa, what fun!
I have written my card list, Miss, Miss, I have. (cos it is so wet outside I haven't even got as far as the greenhouse!).
Also made some pots of gold for our oldies Christmas fair, just need to find the poem for the tag, I'm sure its in a link at the beginning of the thread.
Going to alter the waist on 2 of DGS new cargoes as they are a bit loose, he usually has the opposite trouble, then fill in new carers forms as my fave cousin has agreed to be my carer officially, at last.
  • What a lot to catch up on. Logged on quickly yesterday morning before I went to hairdresser, had done a little housework, but want to do a proper clean when I get home from work on Tuesday, will leave the floors until Wednesday, as I will leave work a little bit early, get home, do floors, shower and then I am out of here and will come back to a clean, tidy place.

Anyway, after I finished at hairdresser, went home to empty w/m for 3rd time and left to see a friend, not seen each other for about 2 months. Of course, we had to go shopping and she was asking me about The Grumpy Old Women show we are going to see. She saw it advertised, thought of me and bought the tickets, not sure what she was referring to:eek: But I did become a grumpy old woman as I was trying to find a travel ladies shaving foam, what a pain in the ...... eventually got one in B**ts, thankfully used my points to pay for it - £1.89 , should have looked to see what the mens cost, probably half that. Went back to hers for dinner and I finally got to see the last episode of Homeland, missed it when it was on and couldn't get it on OD, really looking forward to the new series.

Today I went to my aunt for breakfast, she is just back from teaching in China for 3 months so caught up on everything there. Then she decided she wanted a roast dinner, did I fancy one, well would be rude to say no to a free meal, plus the fact I hadn't even thought about what I was doing. So went to eat, dropped her home about 2:30, got home, washed the towels, made 2 Christmas cakes, did the ironing, just had a long soak in the bath, oh and phoned my mum who wanted to know why I was phoning her on her mobile (lives in Ireland), told her that her landline is out of order, "is it? Oh, dead as a dodo"!!!.

Think I will have a read of the paper and an early night, will be glad to go to work for a rest:rotfl:

Well done to all those who got bargains, have made lovely things and hugs for the rest:D
A smile costs little but creates much :)

    Hi Peppapig,

I used 3 layers of PVA on top of the napkins. Seems to work really well :)

P.S. As fun as a secret Santa sounds, it's against the forum rules to swap personal details with other members such as addresses etc :(
  • Ooh must have missed the post about secret Santa but what a fab idea - count me in please!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
