Hi all, just catching up - sorry if some of these comments are a bit out of date!
noodles thanks for the heads up on the dog stockings in Poundland - did you notice if they have cat ones too? We normally buy a little pressie for my auntie's cat as she doesn't have any children etc and it makes her happy.
whitesatin I never though of looking for the Christmas cooking programmes on You Tube, oh blimey if I start watching them on there i'll never get off it! :rotfl:
freespirit sorry if I've missed this but how's everything going with the blocked drain? Is it sorted? I know you were nervous about facing the workmen alone, I hope it's all going ok.
Nanamia you are right that healthy eating should be a way of life - it's bloomin' hard at times though!
junior_j sorry to hear you are in hospital I do hope you're ok and will be out soon. Sending you lots of positive thoughts. You asked where we were watching all of the Christmas food programmes - the Food Network channel did 'Christmas in September' last weekend and all the programmes were festive themed. Hopefully they will do it again in the not too distant future!
Poppygirl you are more than welcome for the votive candle holders, it was just good that I had the exact ones you wanted sitting in my spare room. I am also just relieved they got to you in one piece! Secret Santa sounds fun, count me in!
Snugglebunny OUCH!!! I hope your finger is doing better and recovering now. x
Gettingtherequickly good news you have booked your holiday to Egypt again - hope it all goes smoothly and you enjoy.
Pinknfluffy LOVE the Fimo characters!!
Feisty that's fantastic news about both of the shop spaces, sending you lots of positive vibes and I hope it is everything you wish for.
Springdreams congrats on nearly getting to the end of your studying, what a fantastic achievement - you'll be able to put your feet up and relax soon!
Quidsy the reading schedule with your son sounds fun, I shall be knocking on your door in December ready for story time!
Kevie I love, love, love the coasters! If I was in your family i'd be thrilled to receive them!
OMO thanks so much for taking the time to write out that list, you are truly marching us forward into Christmas! It's a little intimidating but very helpful, I shall print it out and start working my way through it!
I've been spending the weekend sorting things out for our new bathroom, it will be lovely when it's done but traipsing around Homebase isn't as exciting as Christmas shopping!0 -
Being lactose intolerant I can't have shop bought ones so this was a nice alternative which I get my DBF to fill randomly with sweets or Elizabeth Shaw mint chocs that I can have.
I'm lactose intolerant too. (Have you tried Prolactazyme Forte veg pills? I take them and can eat normally.)
I still don't get normal chocolate advent calendars though, as I can't be bothered to take a pill every morning just for a tiny chocolate!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
A little hello from me! Im normally a lurker but due to a HUGE change in my life ive had to start everything afresh. I love Christmas and Im going to try and do what I can this year for my DD and DS all on a very tight budget!!
Hi, Niknocks and welcome.
Keep an eye on the Grabbit board. There are always bargains to be got on there.

It's not fun doing Christmas on a really tight budget, but it can be done. I always think of it as a challenge.
One year all my sons stocking fillers were freebies, got with coupons from cereal boxes or introductory items. ( once I got the freebie I cancelled with the company).
But I was so proud of myself that Christmas morning0 -
I'm starting to feel a bit guilty now. I feel like I have put everyone under pressure with my lists. It's not compulsory . I won't keep you behind after class. You don't have to all have perfect lists by next Sunday. It is just there to help remind you of things you may have forgotten, and things that can be spread out over time if started now.0

Don't feel guilty. I like having someone else's lists to compare mine too as it's inevitable I'll forget something so it's like having someone to double check with (well for me anyway). With all this miserable weather it's also a chance to do festive things0 -
Please Miss Linky, I am jockeying for teachers pet and wanted to show off my work to you
First Christmas present wrapped!
Now off to tackle the rest of that list! Shall print it out and pop it into a folder for ultimate Christmas organisation!
PS those of you that follow me on facebook will know that I sneakily used the wrapped presents for item photography props[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0 -
I like your coasters Kev,what did you use to seal the napkins with once they were dry? That’s what always puts me off of trying, I’msure I’d mess it all up at the end.
Mandco – where didyou find the Spongebob onesie if you don’t mind me asking?
OMO – that listis brilliant, hope it’s ok if I join in too. I already do some of it but yours is so much more comprehensive and I’mon a budget this year so it will really help. Btw, I don’t feel under pressure from it, rather it’s inspired me to upmy game so thank you.
04624181 – Ithink you’re bang on with the cutting down on the spending. Children rarely know or care how much you’vespent, it’s so much better to think more and spend less so they get somethingthey’ll really enjoy even if it didn’t cost so much. My sister, bil, mum, DD1, sil and DD2 are allon a £5 limit for each other this year instead of the usual £30-£40. I was a bit daunted at first but now I’ve gotgoing I’m enjoying the challenge and am really pleased with the things I’vebought so far.
Caitlyn – welcomeback, for some reason I was thinking about you this morning and wondering howyou were getting on which I know is a bit random really given that I’m not aregular poster. Love the cakes – I wishmy ‘not my best’ looked like that!
Chrissy – wow, you’re definitely on a roll. Glad DD hassettled down and sorry to hear about the seizures. Hope the college works out and she gets aplace wherever she chooses to go. Maybethis is the reason you needed to go and bring her home – there’s somethingbetter waiting for her.
BunBun – hope you feel better soon.
Niknocks –welcome, sounds like you’ve come to the right place and I love your positiveapproach to your new circumstances. Ibet this Christmas will be fabulous.
Feisty I’m likingthe gift tags.
Have forgotten who posted about the secret Santa but I’d beup for joining in too.
Sorry if I’ve missed anyone, hugs to all that need themIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Hi all. I've been a long time lurker on this board and last years. Decided to pop my head and just say thanks to OMO, I really needed a little push to get my lists sorted so your post has given me a good place to start!
Looking forward to keeping up to date with you all0 -
I got the spongebob onesie from asda http://direct.asda.com/george/mens-nightwear/spongebob-onesie/G004361180,default,pd.html

bunbun hope your feeling better soon
chrissyg goodluck with the college hunt
appologies if I've missed anyone but this weather is messing up my internet connection and I keep losing my posts :mad:this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
