does anyone make ginger christmas cake? I made it a few years ago and I cannot find the recipe, its a fruitless heavy type cake :D
not sure if its the same but I make a gingerbread cake like this one http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/gingerbread_cake_with_69829

    kevie192 lovely coasters

finally managed to find a spongebob onesie in the right size so that's other pressie sorted thinking maybe a matching mug & snowman soup to go with it as a little extra

my gift bags arrived very impressed with the quick delivery & they are lovely. fit the lindt teddies great and are big enough to take a medium sized egg so a good size for the price. still not totally sure what i'm going to do with them but sure i'll figure it out
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Evening everyone, only came on and thanked yesterday another migraine but didnt want to get too far behind :rotfl:DD1 took me to a new Poundland today, i got some lovely silver glittery tags and small crackers which were really pretty, usually i spend about a tenner, but i thought sod it even if they have silver bits inside they still all end up in the kitchen drawer, so as long as we have a cracker to pull these will do, a toblerone and some walnut whips, then got the chocolate coins on offer in tesco (saved a pound), and nephews and neices cards in card factory. Im probably late to the party on this one but i dont get out much DD1 treated me to a Costa mocha at a 'DRIVE THRU COSTA' i was like a kid in a candy shop it was so cool :rotfl:unfortunately they didnt have their xmas flavours yet :) Love hearing about all your buys and what everyone is up to, OMO im so looking forward to this xmas countdown i have got into a bit of a pickle with my lists :)

Sorry to bore with grotty pre plastering photos but hoping Feisty or Linky or any budding design guru can help. Table is part of a set of three! Lamp table ^ tv unit and coffee table. Sofa is well "loved" but DH and I adore it so its staying :)

:xmastree: 100 days to go countdown :xmastree:

First things first. We need to know what we are doing. Organisation is the key. So a few lists are in order.

    Lists

    Presents-
Who do you need to buy for?
    What is your Budget ?
What's shops do you need to go to?
What offers are you hoping to use?
Where have you hidden everything ?
Where are you going to hide everything ?
How many batteries are you going to need ?

    Wrapping -
When do they have to be wrapped by?
Do you have enough paper/tape/ tags/ cello tape?( where are they ?)

    Hampers-
how many are you making ?
what's going in them in them ?
What are they going in ? Box/basket ?

    Cards-
How many do you need ? special and normal ?
    Stamps -
how many do you need ?

Household items- what will you need ?

Toiletries - what will you need ?

Normal food- what will you need ?

    Christmas Food-
    What do you need?
    Where are you buying it?
If buying stamps how many more do you need?

    Making/ Baking
What gifts are you making/baking ?
How long do they take to make/bake ?

    Store cupboard for making/ baking
    What do you need ?
Where are you buying it ?
When do you need it by ?

Christmas day Clothes- what are you/ your family going to wear ? Do you need to buy something new?

    Elf-
what is he/she going to do ?
What do you need for him/her to do it ?

    Going out-
Do you have a works do / family get-together ?
    Whose booking it?
How much it going to cost ?
What are you going to wear ?
Do you need to book a babysitter ?

    There are 14 weeks remaining

How many pay days do you have ?

How many lists can be spread over these weeks ?

    Ideas-

Buy a household item or toiletry a week(4 if monthly shopping)
Buy an extra normal food item a week if it has a long life( 4 if monthly shopping)
Write a few cards a week . If you have children who have to write 30, definitely start them in early December.
If you post a lot of cards, buy some stamps now.

If I like me you hate wrapping, start now and spread the pain into short busts.

    So there you have it.
If you have a list that is not listed let me know and I will add it. :snow_laug

ETA keep an eye on those stocking fillers. I know from experience they can run away with you. You only need to fill a stocking not a duvet cover

Clayton hiya, welcome back. I'm so very excited about Bents :) It's good to have you back xxx
Linky I'm so excited, as I'm typing now it's almost midnight so officially the countdown is three minutes away, I'm scared to peep, is it going to start at midnight? Or will I wait till it's a reasonable hour? Xxx

NCIS_fan good to see you :) ooh must look in £shop for DVD that was a right bargain wasn't it? Cos what if you then have one in the wash, one on the line, one in soak, one on and you have spaghetti bol for tea, do you want to sit all evening watching tv sticking of garlic bread and sauce? No way you need at least five- then what if you just fancy a change? Maybe you neeeed 6? Haha xxx

It's my very favourite place in the whole world :) DH and I love the peace, I know it's not everybodies cup of tea but it has so many happy memories for us (used to take DS and DD on holiday, staying on the front, left the curtains open and we could see the sea when we woke- perfect) I've been smiling taking "trampolines" since Junior_J said it too :) Wonder how she is today? xxx
Freespirit Not another migraine :( Im sending twinkling fairy lights down to you and a pair of Mrsinvisible hobnailed boots for that BD, cos I think I can hear him yapping :( Once Monday and DSs interview is over, he gets the job and they ask him to start Thursday, you can breathe and then when Wednesday is over you can blooming well got on the phone to the drs!!!! I will nag you into submission :) xxx I need you back xxx I did chuckle at your new Costa experience :) and do you know ? In Australia they have drive thru off licences!!!! Imagine that xxx
