  • Linky thank you so much! I feel quite festive and plan to tackle the wrapping today!

Kevie, I saw those on Kirstie Allsopp and fell in love with them, yours turned out beautiful :)

Mrs invisible so glad you had a lovely time :)

Free spirit, I'm right behind nana and mrsinvisible, I shall chase that bd down and scare it off with my gremlin chihuahuas!

Well DH needed to get out of the house yesterday and although he has now paid for it dearly (could barely walk when we were out and has been in agony ever since) his spirits are improved! I took him to see the new shop! Sadly the current owners are on holiday, but we managed to peek through the windows and he seems really excited about the venture. In fact, he said that he was very impressed - outstanding praise indeed for someone usually so unemotional. He has decided he will do all the furniture and has requested a workshop! Spoke to the lovely owner of the craft centre and he has let us have the one adjoining to the shop for an extra £200 a month! Scared about the high rent of them both, but confident it is the right decision :)

  • Hi all, sorry I havent been on but had a mad busy week as the daughter started nursery and have been out christmas shopping with the best friend.
Have typed a long reply out but it wont let me add it for some reason so will try later! But hi to everybody and big fairy lights and hot chocolate hugs to everybody!!! 100 days whoop ahoop
Hi to all the newbies, welcome and Merry christmas planning is under way here. Stalled a bit as im also helping my grandmother to cut down on her spend this year as she has 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren!. Just told her to buy for the great granchildren and have managed to get her to cut down to £10 each instead of the usual £25 each! Its not the amount we spend( as us moneysavers all know) I managed to get a doc mcstuffins jigsaw and a 3d snakes and ladder games for my daughter from argos on the 2 for £8 offer they are running at the moment. Got them for my gran to give them to my daughter for her xmas present. She kept saying is that enough? I reassured her that my daughter will have no idea how much is spent on any of her presents and will truly love the gifts
Nanamia 1.5lb off last week, glad it worked phew! hope you doing ok?
Fiestyfidget your shop looks fantastic! How exciting for you and the hubby xx Keep us posted and hope hubby feels better soon
OMO your post is fantastic! am going to get all my lists out later and check everything, twice of course haha

Well I managed to get some bits and bats whilst out this week. Poundland had some nail art pens so have got some for my 13yr old sister and got some nail stickers for my 3 yr old as she is into having her nail painted at the moment. They also had a katie price book and a justin beiber book too, so all bought for the sister. They had a beano small tube of sweets so bought for 11yr old son as im buying him the beano annual this year, does naybody think hes too old for it? Me and my brother loved beano when we were kids but times change dont they? Smyths have got buy one get one free on kids annuals. They even have a doc mcstuffins one so that the kids books sorted out! Also got son a nerf gun in the sale at argos. In b&M bargains they had some lipton fruit teabags with a lovely glass mug for £1.99! its all in a box and has been bought for the mother in law as part of her gift as she loves fruit teas. Also for the father in law and my dad I have got some scotch bonet chillis sauces. They were 89p each for small bottles so make a nice extra for gift hampers of gift bags etc.
Right im off to look after the germ spreading, exploding sneezing kids! 2 nd week in school for son and daughter only been school nursery 3 days and they both spiking temps and full of colds. this is the only part of christmas holidays i dont like.
Oh acupuncture went very well! cant wait for next session xx

Freespirit, all these migraines? what does GP say? hmmmm. Black dog boots on the way for your use.xx
Nanamia, (I always read your name as Nanamania it seems somehow apt?). My house on a good day looks like your photos. Yes it was Fleetwood, odd, even tho its only an hour and a half away, this was my first visit.
OMO mercy- mercy- mercy- oh, a week? ok then, I'll try too.
eisty, glad DHs spirits were improved by his excursion, and his idea of a workshop is a winner, you'll see.
04624181 Good on you for showing your gran its the thought not the cost.
These pesky tax credit people, can we not gang together and sue them for compensation for the hardship and the expense they have caused?)
The bench for the memory of my better than best friend was completed this week, we were trying to think of the wording for the plaque for it, when I said 'if he were here now and we asked him he'd say 'oh, whatever' so that's what we are putting.
  • Nanamia thought it was you who lived near bents but couldn't quite remember.. Thanks for the welcome I look forward to sharing bents chatter with you and the others!

The 100 day countdown....argh it starts here for me! Officially excited. I follow the official christmas countdown on twitter and Facebook and they have been sending me lovely Xmas pictures for weeks. I'm also following the coca cola truck on twitter hoping it will do a local trip this year.

My sister wants to take my nieces somewhere special to see father Xmas this year so can people post their ideas etc so I can share them with her (nearer the time obviously unless there is somewhere that us fab year on year).
  • Morning all, looks like everyone is busy at the moment with Christmassy bits and pieces.
OMO thanks for the list I will be printing it later and sticking it to my christmas cupboard(wardrobe)
I'm meant to be getting dressed at the moment but have sneakily made a coffee and grabbed the ipad so I can have a quick read of what you've all been up to, I found myself singing the songs from a muppets christmas carol in the shower this morning, my dh is now groaning as there is no stopping christmas gradually taking over our lives from now :-).
We do have our mini holiday in south minister and our anniversary next month though, so better not get too carried away and organise some Bits for them.
So far I have started making place mats and a table runner for my do something Christmassy each day and am keeping an eye out for the Santa specials train ride in sherringham to list dates on their website so I can book, ds will love it this year as loves anything with wheels atm.
Feisty - is it best to pm you on Facebook to order as I'd like a until christmas plaque please.
Hugs to everyone that needs one. Hope everyone is ok and starting to be filled with christmas cheer. 100 days will soon pass x x

Well goodness me...what HAVEN'T I missed?! Had a lovely morning catching up with all your news! Hugs to those that need them, huge big welcomes to those who've joined us and a massive fat *mwah* on the cheek for shop-owner extraordinaire Feisty! So proud of you. :T

The Festival was a success, my team were brilliant - was going to get them a little something but they've all been talking about things they want to buy themselves as treats for getting through it so think I'm going to go with a gift voucher and thank you card. Not very exciting but I think will be appreciated as none of them have particularly economic tastes when it comes to fashion! We did however have to suffer the rudest bunch of people I've ever met, who descended on us for the full week. I could tell a hundred stories about how rude they were but know you lovelies will all understand what I mean from this simple thing - when they left the office we'd prepared for them (in which I'd put a kettle, lovely mugs, and a mini fridge stocked with milk and biscuits) we found mountains of rubbish piled up on all sides (including a 'lost property' box with some poor person's mobile phone tossed in carelessly) and cups of half drunk mouldy tea and half-eaten plates of food. The place took hours to clean up. I've assured my organisation that I certainly won't be working with that bunch ever again, don't care who they are!!

Yesterday was my niece's first birthday so went straight in to cake-baking on Friday, hence me not getting time to come on here before now. Couple of pics below, not my finest work as I could barely keep my eyes open after 11 straight days at work (including one 36 hr shift!) but the theme was Wizard of Oz, as I wanted it to be something my nephew liked too, and I'd bought my niece a special copy of the book as a keepsake for her birthday.

    Now then...100 days to go!!

Been picking up a few bits and pieces as presents and I'm loving hearing about where things have been spotted in shops. Huge thanks to OMO for keeping links updated, been really useful for me this morning!

Love the sofa Nanamia, but I'm officially against colour schemes - fill your room with lovely things that you like and you'll see that after a certain point, it looks bohemian and eclectic. That's what I tell myself anyway! :rotfl:
