My christmas magazine arrived, its handmade christmas, its got some lovely makes in it. I have arrange to go to the local craft shop with my friend(who happens to work there) on Thursday so will be stocking up on supplies to give a few projects a go(placemats and table runner is a definite)
Also went to dunelm and found a lovely christmas fleece blanket for £6.99 to go in the December hamper and may have somehow ended up in b & m again, not sure how, but got a load of stocking fillers for ds and storage boxes for under our new bed.
Going to try and do something christmas related each day now so come December everything will be sorted:-)
  • Fiesty Are the pictures you've put on FB of your new shop??
Noodles Can I ask which one of the 99p shop had the dog advent calanders? Was it an independent one or chain one? I don't think we have any 99p shops here, only the chain Poundlands etc.

Most of all a massive public THANK YOU to the lovely princesskitty29 who has very kindly sent me some candle votive holders I was looking for to use for my wedding. I'm so greatful again!!! xx
  • Fiesty thats fantastic news!!!! so pleased for you!

Freespirit as so sorry to hear that, poor you - I hope you get it sorted without calling them out, have the same phobia of people doing work in the house so know where you are coming from xx

had great day y'day in that a customer was so kind, I helped him with some things and he went to Cs and wrote out a testamonial about the great service with my name on it (was on my name tag) I couldnt beleive it, was so touched that he took time out of his day to go and do that! my manager bought it so show me - unfortunatly at the end of the day I managed to stupidly slice off the end of my finger on meat slicer! felt really sick with shock but first aider was brilliant and everyone was so lovely checking on me and helping me close up, cleaning stuff etc, its so lovely what a really fantastic bunch of people work there, am so lucky! typically its the end of my right hand first finger which you use more than any other it seems! bled for ages as they do, but worst part has been soaking off the gauze this morning, yeouch!! that will teach me no to lose concentration - we are trained highly on use of them, was my own fault I got distracted and Im usually SO careful! what a muppet
  • thank you PrincessKitty that is such a kind thing to say and really made me feel better about it :)

ALJA I got rear ended at the start of the year too, stationary traffic but felt like such a hard whack, bits were falling off her car but was very lucky mine was all ok, but whenever Im in slow or stationary traffic now Im always wondering about the person behind and hope they are 'with it'! I think it is normal to feel apprehensive, perhaps having somebody with you to reassure may help do you think? I went on the motorway not too many months after my test when we thought it would be quiet and I got boxed into the middle lane by lorries and a slow coach driver, car behind all over the back of me (couldnt speed up to pass cos the coach had pulled out and was sitting there and the outside lane was full of hoggers, Im not usually a nervous driver but at higher speeds than I was used to, plus trying to watch all those around me and hubby saying 'try and get into the outside lane to pass them' when it was chock full made me a bit pan icky and I felt light headed, ended up pulling in behind them and onto the hard shoulder and he took over, havent been able to drive on motorway since because Ive left it too long (tried the next weekend but couldnt manage as was too soon!) so I do understand how you feel - I can now go on 3 lane duel carriageway with slip road near us which is almost a motorway, but taken me a long time, really hope you are ok, am here if you ever need a chat xxxx

  • Had a catch up, hugs and congrats to all those that need and deserve them.

Had re-booked my trip to Egypt, go next week, had an email this morning,"oh by the way, we are invited to a wedding, make sure you have something to wear!" WHAT???????? Don't they realise that going to a wedding here is a major event. Thankfully, going to one there is much more relaxed, even if they are generally big event, but is not a fashion competition, it is purely a celebration by family and friends of the couple's new life together. Now need to see what I have that I can wear to it.

The littlies haven't been told yet that I am going, can't wait to see them:D
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • gettingtherequickly - glad you've got your trip rebooked. The kids will be so delighted to see you. That's also nice about the wedding, sounds nice and relaxed and fun!

noodles - thanks so much for that link, sadly they don't seem to have any stores in Scotland, let alone in my city!
  • Afternoon everyone, Woke up to a text from DD2 this morning, mum, have you been in a car accident text me as soon as you get this. I panicked thinking she had been in one again!!! Then realised she was asking me?? Apparently ex had text her saying that someone had rung him and asked for me and if i was ok after my car accident?? Prob ambulance chasers. The latest in the drain saga, DS spent £10 on the drain stuff and its still not cleared, so he rang housing, next flipping wednesday  we have got to wait until, god knows what im going to do about washing, wont be able to use DW and have to be careful with kitchen sink as well and to top it all DS has i/v for a temp xmas job on mon and im worried if he gets it they will ask him to start straight away and then i have to deal with workmen on my own  so instead of manning up i will be a right worry wart all week now, see this is when i need to be OMO :rotfl:
