  • I bought a pack for both of mine when they started school, thinking Id be Soccer Mom and diligently sew in labels every August ... I usually end up writing their name in indelible pen in one of the inside labels after pricking my fingers and swearing under my breathe with the first 3 sewn in labels ... so 13 and 16 years later ive still got loads left!

To celebrate the festiveness, I have whipped up a Christmas treat - not sure if I am going to just fill it with all of my wrapped sweets or use it as a decoration with the baubles and lights. Yes, this photo 'shoot' gave me the perfect excuse to dive into the xmas decorations ;)

Bit difficult to read, but it says; "Sn*wflakes, Mittens, & Eskimo Kisses" I found a christmas sign with this on, on pinterest back at the beginning of the year and fell in love with the quote :)

    Hi guys

Just got in from work, nipped into Tesco's on the way home and picked up the Lego Friends Pet Salon for 7.50 (yeah), but the best bit, double and treble yeah the Christmas goodies aisle was out, I squeaked with joy! Did get a few strange looks. Picked up the Christmas Marshmallows for the Snowman Soup and got very excited over small pieces of chocolate in Christmas wrapping.

Started to think about what I bought last year in the sales, was planning on how to persuade hubby to go into the loft tonight to look at Christmas boxes (would be a hard job as hubby is of the mind set that Xmas starts on Xmas Eve :eek:) but then went upstairs and then realised that all the Xmas stuff is still in the spare room, due to crappy year we never got round to putting it away, so am going to go through it later using the excuse I am tidying!

Been lurking for a while but have come out of hiding as I know how good you all are with ideas. We are a big family so have to start early to keep on top of it but am struggling with two in particular this year especially with stockings and small tree presents.

My son will be 12 in October and at secondary so I think he is a bit beyond toys - but he loves Scouts, sewing and has ferrets and a dog at his dads which he does a lot with. He has an x box and a ds but isnt really a gamer. I think I can sort his main present it is the smaller bits that I am struggling with. We live in a rural area so he cant take himself off places like the cinema etc.

My daughter is 22 , living at home most of the time, working with her own car knows what she does and doesnt like but is adamant every year she wants a stocking would like to get her something that shows some thought. She likes baking but I bought her loads for that last year so really stuck this year so hoping that someone will have some ideas .

    Thanks
  • I decided that this week I'm going to sort the freezers out, so along with my grocery shopping I've ordered some klip boxes and bags to round up the veg etc and see what I have. Hope to get one freezer cleared and then stocked for winter (not just Christmas but that will have a separate section). Also found some small bottles of babycham, so I've been drinking that for the past couple of days to get me in the spirit. My Christmas cupboard can soon start, I've got 2 jars of mincemeat!!

No sign of the builders/decorators and my furniture is delivered tomorrow. So bloomin annoyed to say the least. I was hoping to be able to paint through before Saturday as strictly come dancing is a big watch in our house. Can only hope it's finished before the main series starts. I'm finally getting back to being the old pinksteps after all the !!!! I've had this year.

hello...please can I come back? life has changed quite a bit since i was last here. after 6 months of being off work with depression OH has handed his notice in and left for good. he is planning to do a year or two on supply teaching and then if accepted will train to be a vicar. that will be a complete way of life. so...we will have a decrese in salary when he is on supply and even less when he starts training.

luckily I have most of my Christmas presents sorted but still need a few stocking fillers. I will need help to be more organised though:D

we had a nice holiday in Dorset/the new forest. unfortunately feisty we wern't there when you were doing the craft fairs or I would have come along. we had a few days in the caravan in Wareham. we stayed on a really quiet peaceful site but about 5 minutes walk from the town.

I am now ready for a good, organised Christmas...

welcome! and we LOVE a challenge!
my DS is 13 and I get stuff like board games (different Monopoly each year etc) stuff with his favourite footy team on (Sports Direct v good) DVD films and box sets, books, sweets and choccies (if he has a favourite chocolate bar you can often get boxes of it on Amqazon good price) games, things like quirky money boxes and games - have a look at Hawkins Bazaar for great teen gifts, I put in an annual, calendar etc, sugar pig, choccy coins etc

My DD is 16, I get books, cds, dvd's, cute animal hat/scarf sets, alarm clock, sweets, cute slipper socks (try next) Christmas pyjamas for both of mine, hot chocolate, lots of Hawkins Bazaar quirky stuff

if there is a particular interest you can sometimes get documentary box sets or dvds etc form Amazon

if they like a tv shows for example, maybe box sets, poster, calendar etc? same with bands, sports person or team? I find searching on Amazon for a theme is useful and you find stuff you hadnt thought of :D:T

even though mine are teens I like to put a cute toy on the top of the stocking, never too old to be a kid at Christmas!

hope that helps, let us know if there are particular interests and we will try and make more suggestions x
