Princesskitty you would miss the people you work with if you lost your job as well. At least this give you some breathing space. Are you still going to be looking for different work in the coming year, as if you weren't there ?
You are right OMO I would miss them if I left too, it's just going to be a bit strange going into the office for the first time and seeing lots of empyt seats. But I am very happy and grateful that i've got a job still for potentially another year and I know everything will be fine. I'm also going to work with a really nice bunch of people so i'm happy about that too. I think i'll start looking for a job nearer to the time, our employer has been really good and is giving us 3 month gardening leave after we've been made redundant so we have ample time to look for a new job.

Ruth_honey wow the chocolate treats continue! Sounds fab! Would it be right to say you are a bit of a chocoholic? :) I ate what felt like my body weight in Rolo's last night and ended up making myself feel really sick! :o

    Feisty lovely gifts as always!

msgigglewick thanks for the link and I do hope DD gets better soon. And don't forget to rearrange that birthday night out!

Nanamia I do hope your DH can turn it around so he doesn't have to go down the insulin route. I know this is completely different and might not help but my FiL was told he had high cholesterol a few months back and through diet and exercise he has brought it right down and is now safe again.

CHRISSYG what a strange thing to happen with Studio. I've heard a lot of people say they can't get a cash account so perhaps they only offer this if people apply and don't get the credit account? Seems a bit strange though! Have they got this year's Christmas catalogue out now?

Opee good to hear from you and glad the little one is doing well and keeping you busy! Thanks for the mincemeat heads up, I don't like mince pies (I really do feel like i'm missing out on a bit of Christmas!) but my DH does and it was only this morning that I was thinking I might make him some this year so will try to look out for this offer. I was flicking through a Nigella cook book the other day and found a recipe for mini apple pies, I might make them for myself this year as an alternative to mince pies.

I gave birth to ds on the ambulance trolley in a corridor. When the first ambulance got to my house they said I was miscarrying, as they was no heartbeat. They took me to a A and E, where a nurse found a faint heartbeat. So into another ambulance I got to go across town to the old maternity hospital. They would not let anyone come with me incase it all went wrong on route. I never made it past reception. By the time everyone got there in the car it was all over and ds was already in high dependancy due to bring so early and I was having a cup of tea for the shock.

Blimey OMO! I haven't had a baby yet and these stories are slightly scary!

    Snap!

Nana, if DH is tech savvy get him signed up to myfitnesspal - although calorie based, it also shows the amount of sugar, fat etc that has been consumed, so will definitely help to give him a head start :)

DH still has pneumonia and the lung collapse hasn't improved - still he is in better spirits though :)
I've checked the map and if we move rural, it should only be 15 minutes further away to specialist hospital compared to now :)

    Hi all,

Got back from our 2 weeks in Tunisia yesterday. Have to say it was the best holiday I have ever been on. The hotel, staff, food, pools and weather were all amazing. It's such a friendly and honest place. One waiter chased us down the street with 5 dinar (£2) we had left on the table as a tip, just to check we hadn't forgotten it! :rotfl:

All systems are go now for xmas. Ds wants a 3ds as all the new games that are out are only for the 3ds and not the older version he has. So annoying when they do that but it's how they make their money I suppose.

Dd will be having a bike. Found a great one in the Halfords sale just before our hol but decided to leave it until we got back.

Hugs to all that need them. :)

nothing to worry about really, you go with the flow of it all, i wouldn't even say labour is painful.. a strange feeling really... all 4 of mine were totally natural births. one i'd happily do again if i was younger ;) lol

My mum has said she'll come and look after sick dd4, as she'll be in bed by the time we leave so should be fine. so evening back on yay!

feisty hope dh is on the mend soon.

hanley... not sure what ds your son has but the normal ds lite games work on the 3ds as well so should still be able to play the games he's got as well as the new ones :)

He has the ds lite but wants all the new games that are for the 3ds. Hopefully will find one cheap somewhere don't want to spend a fortune on 1 pressie as he won't be getting anything else if I have to pay full price! It's good that he'll still be able to play the old games though. Thanks. :D

Yes, I guess you could say I'm a chocoholic, Princesskitty! :D I don't buy it that often myself, though. Just try & ration the hoards I get for birthdays, Christmas & Easter. I adore the Lindt Lindor truffles, but that is a special treat. If I need a chocolate fix, a choc mousse usually sorts me out-and is better for me than a slab of Galaxy!

The rain has started up harder here now. Even our cat has ran inside. I think she was in her hiding hole amongst the plants, but it's dry in here. I think I cursed the weather by buying some disposable bbq's and a new sun lounger earlier. Oops!

Can't decide if I should stay in my reading 'nook' and chill out with my kindle or move to the sofa and watch a film. Blossom is now sat by the back door, looking miserable. Poor kitty.

Oh, I found out that we're getting a Home Bargains nearby in september. Can't wait! It'll save me buying up the shop every time I visit my family! There is one 7 miles away already, but it's not easy to get to by public transport from here (3 buses and about 1 1/2 hours!) and it's quite small. B&M and HB...Christmas should be very easy this year. So much good stuff in those shops. :)
