  • Oh my word! Just been trying to find a 30th birthday gift idea and found ......... mince pie flavoured lip gloss, reduced from £2.99 to £1.79, on a website site called findmeagift.co.uk. Ok, maybe be a tad expensive, but it is different!
A smile costs little but creates much :)

PRINCESSKITTY i am exactly the same with cinema food, even when the kids were little we would stop at asda and buy sweets and drinks and popcorn on the way to the cinema, you wont believe this but when my DS had a part time job at vue, he would regularly serve picnmix to families and they would spend in the region of £40  on sweets  and then buy drinks etc and they wouldnt bat an eyelid, ye gods :D Hope DH eye is ok and he got some glasses sorted

 Blimey! Good for them but I just couldn't do it! I buy a massive bag of popcorn kernals for around £1.09 and it makes TONNES. What people don't realise is that a £5 bucket of popcorn would only actually cost the cinema around 20/30p to make. Anyway, I shall get off my cinema high horse now! :rotfl:
Third day of getting up early and am definitely starting to flag :( Got really cross with myself after being too tired to make any new shop items last night - then pictured you all telling me of for being so hard on myself. I thought about it, and as I'm struggling to juggle leaving the house work with caring for DH, I figured I deserve a week off from that business ;)

I'm tempted to start doing some surveys - has anybody got any suggestions? x

You definitely deserve some downtime. I know what it's like, I actually struggle with just sitting down and watching one TV programme, I always feel like I should be doing something! But you've been through a lot lately and you need to look after yourself. x In terms of surveys, I find IPSOS good, and I also do My Survey and Global Test Market. Although I find it difficult to get many points with Global Test Market so i'm considering knocking it on the head. Also I don't know if you have a Nectar card but they've just starting doing something called 'adpoints', which means you literally get points for watching TV adverts - it couldn't be easier!

trendyjenny well done on mustering the energy to phone the doctor. I sometimes dread making phonecalls and put them off for as long as possible, even easy ones, and I just don't know why. But I always feel better after i've actually done them, so I hope you feel a bit better about it now and they can help you. x

Gettingtherequickly (good to hear from you!) what a fun present it would make someone! It's amazing the little gems that can be found throughout the year! Thanks for sharing. :)
  • Our nothing is the ultimate minimalism, nothing is precious, nothing is simple, nothing is sacred. Open nothing and be enthralled when nothing happens.
Allow nothing to flow through your mind and calm your soul. Savour the moment, soon you will discover that nothing really is so much better than something! Nothing contains nothing in one hand and nothing in the other, nothing ,the hole in the doughnut, the sound of a tree falling in the forest when no one is there to hear it,the incident no one talks about. This gift is guaranteed to do absolutely nothing. If something happens, return for a full refund. Go on, make someone smile.........

I'm going to tweak it a little bit but this is the gist !

Fantastic! Thank you so much, and consider it "pinched" xx
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

hi all  will catch up later but just wanted to say Im SO with you all on cinema food! such a total rip off - have always picked up whatever sweets are on offer and kept them for cinema trips especially in schools hols and I still do (Morrisons 50p big bags of all Haribo sweets last weekend!) and also always pick up bottle of water in supermarket for 30p, stash it in my handbag and voila! My DD is 15 now and when she goes into town to the cinema with her friends she takes them to the 99p shop and they all buy their cinema snacks there, I have taught my grasshopper well!

Sorry to hear about your uncle OMO xx

Thanks for the tips on the American Candy sellers Snugglebunny. My fiend brings stuff over with her when she comes to visit her parents, but its once every 2 years. I love all the stuff you can get. I grew up in Saudi and it was very Americanised,I grew up eating loads of yummy candy and watching America tv ads

Oh Jenny, what has OCC letter said?

Nana, just to drive your husband mad I have review my konad stamp set as it came today - have a peek, I'm sure you'll be tempted ;)

Need some advice from the nail experts! I have split and frayed cuticles and little tags of skin around my nails (making it sound much grosser than it is lol) do you have any tips?
