p.s. snugglebunny (so good to have you back on here!) thanks for that website! I absolutely adore Cheetoh's crunchies (even though they are bright orange - can't be good) but you can't get them here. I brought a couple of bags back with me from my honeymoon but great to find another supplier!

thank you honey, good to see you too! you are very welcome. I love American green apple Tic Tacs as does my DS, they sell them in bigger boxes over there but found a seller on ebay called Candy Hero (who also sell through Amazon) who sells them here with good p+p, also worth checking Amazon for oher American goodies as American Soda also sell via Amazon and you can often get slightly cheaper p+p for some reason. Also a seller on ebay 'A Taste of America' is their shop and 'myladdies' is the user name, very good service (free p+p) and they sell all the American flavours of Skittles etc, and on Amazon Ive also used Candy Hero for a lot of American Jelly Belly products that Ive not seen here.

Ive bought a lovely taffeta 3ft x 5ft USA flag called 'Henbrand USA Stars/Stripes' which was £2.60 delivered which is great for hamper and then to go on a wall afterwards, I mention the item description as there are loads of them on Amazon and not all have good feedback but this one does.

Another thing I got for hamper is two of the John F Kennedy books that he wrote - one is his diaries from when he was in Europe in WW3 as a reporter (bought 2nd hand on Amazon and it looks ancient which was what I wanted as wanted it to look retro) and the other was one he wrote just before he took office, thought they would make a good iconic centrepiece to the hampers, for those wanting to do a more up to date hamper you could get one of Barack Obama's books perhaps?

I love the Aunt Jemima pancake syrup that thye have on the tables in the diners in the US, I always use maple syrup when I make buttermilk pancases but there is something about the AJ that reminds me of America so have bought that from American Soda along with pancake mix, they have the cheapest Lucky Charms (3.99) and Applejacks (3.99) they are also cheaper than most places for the imported US Froot Loops

and don't get me started on the American pop tarts!!

I miss America, we were out today and were talking about Epcot and the new ice cream parlour that's opened there ... I sooooo want to go back!!

MrsInvisible I feel for you about your neighbours moving, my neighbours of 16 years moved out a week ago, they were like parents to us and grandparents to our children, just the lovliest people you could ever meet - theyve moved to be close to their son, DIL and grandchildren, we are going down to see them soon but I miss them terribly. Am coping much worse than I thought I would but hope I can get over it soon!

    Happy birthday nic :)

    Nana, purdy = pretty ;)

Just call me superwoman today - was up at 7 (on a Sunday!?!?) and cleaned the flat, changed and washed bedding, walked dogs, dropped off business accounts, listed my 50th shop item, nipped into town and made brownies. I'm pooped lol. Plan to quickly get work bits ready for tomorrow and then settle down with brownies, strawberries and cream and watch a bit of Hannibal :)

Ps lovely husband has just bought me the £25 Konrad nail stamp starter set :D

Hi - hope you don't mind me posting (I usually lurk)
I love the idea of hampers for Christmas - and have thought about doing a Canadian themed one for my OH.
Stuck for ideas though - can any of you lovely people help ?

I had thought of a terramundi with a Canadian flag on but cant find one anywhere. Do you know of any shops that would add your own design on to a terramundi ?
    Thanks

I would personally get a plain one and decorate it yourself. You can get personalised ones, but they are expensive. Print a flag to size of the net, glue it on and give it a coat of varnish or pva glue. You could write on it with one of those bubble pen things. ( someone on here will know what they are actually called :rotfl:).
You obviously have to have maple syrup and pancakes.
A hat and scarf ( it's cold over there)
    Will keep thinking.

I need some help myself. I have bought Robbie my own pram as the silver cross one they have fills my car boot. I have got him a lovely bebe confort loola up in cream. The problem is the raincover zip. It is really stiff and does up inside the hood. I have tried furniture polish but it is still hard to do up. It is apparently hard on all of them, not just mine, but I thought someone on here may have a tip for making it glide easier. Part of the problem is it is curved.
Ps. I got it on eBay for £45. Am on my new toy and haven't worked out how to do links, but the number is 181144289535. It is umbrella folding and the seat comes off and turns to face you. :)

I also got an apron 130902824559 and a bag 261223308256. Their bag is always full of things I would never need on a day out.
