Evening everyone,
Still cold and miserable herespent afternoon helping DD2 bake a birthday cake for someone at work, which was nice, she is very upset at the moment one of her male friends they go back about 7 odd years, he is only 24 and he is really going through it at the moment, he was hit by a car 4-5 years ago, and for the last couple of years has been in a lot of pain in the top of his leg, after finally being sent for scans, tests etc they diagnosed cancer, he had the lump cut out plus leg muscle because it had wrapped itself around it about about 6 weeks ago, they said it was a rare but very agressive form, it has already filled up with fluid, which they are worried about and he has been told there are active cells in this fluid, he starts 5 weeks of radiotherapy next week (every day) then 18 weeks of chemo, we are gutted, he is such a lovely young man, plus he got married in November and between them they have 3 young kids, one from each of their previous partners and one together, they are such a lovely beautiful family its heartbreaking.

Feisty, I've just checked your comments - is it the one about it being a bit bent? I agree it's insensitive of them not to think of the impact but the comment is actually really positive overall - says your work is beautiful!!! Stop seeing the neutral (it's not even a negative!!) and address it with positivity! If there's somewhere that allows you to add comments to your profile I'd just say something like "Have been learning about the finer points of sending delicate items via the UK postal system - be assured your package will be well wrapped!"
Nanamia those cakes were fabulous, loved the pictures - so professional! :T
Well done to pinknfluffy for being a business lady extraordinaire, so glad your hard work is paying off!
Hugs to SNUGGLEBUNNY, I had a similar situation with my mum for 8 years (if you throw in some violence and aggression too!) so know how worrying it is to be at a distance and not know what's going on. Hope your mum gets the help she needs. If you ever need tips on fighting doctors/social services, I have the t-shirt as they say!
Feel full of cold today, been on a train for 10 hours in total (blurgh!) so having an early night now!0 -
Freespirit, know this isn't particularly helpful but my friend Martin went through that exact same thing when we were in our early 20s - was all complete doom and gloom and he got a terrible prognosis and had a year of really intense surgery/treatment. He's been in remission for over 7 years now and is completely unaffected, apart from a couple of scars.
PS OMO - how was your bank holiday?0
