- I'm also on the look out for a candle HOLDER making kit. My auntie said she would like to make some candle holders to put her candles in, I saw a kit somewhere after Christmas but couldn't buy it, now I can't seem to find one anywhere! All I can find is candle making kits, if anyone knows of anything it would be great to hear about it.
When we were kids, I remember us making some with polystyrene, sprayed them silver, with pasta shells to decorate. They looked really good and were cheap and kept us occupied. Doubt if HSE would approve now:DA smile costs little but creates much0 -

Ha ha, that would be interesting!! If all else fails I was thinking of collecting a few jam jars and some embellishments and bits she could decorate it with. Last time I went to her house she had one in the living room that she had done and it was really pretty, but she hadn't bought stuff to do it with it was just stuff she had in the house (I think she used rhinestones from a piece of jewellery she had!) so I thought it would be nice to buy her a kit.0 -

I'm determined to do it this year and some of you had some great suggestions on what I could put in it for us, unfortunately I can't find them so if anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear them.
Glad to read you had a fab honeymoon, we had two and they both seem so far away (this country straight after we married & abroad the year after - now its a 'tradition' we have to go away for anniversary)
Christmas eve hampers are fab, I love ours so much (bear in mind we have two kids) but the gist of ours is;
new pjs
dvds to watch
popcorn
take away 'voucher'
^^ - are essentials!
If it was just me and the hubby i'd put in
alcohol!
nice box of chocs or some luxury or home made biscuits
Maybe a throw to snuggle under to watch the dvd
Ours (inc kids) this year will consist of;
PJs for all
Dressing gown & slippers for kids (maybe an idea for adults?)
xmas sticker or activity book
dvd
xmas teddies
xmas books
Santa plate
santa key
reindeer dust
I used to put sweets in but the amount that Nia gets for xmas it just seems pointless adding even more! Maybe a really special bauble as your first married xmas? Probably a bit too late now but have you seen the beach baubles!? http://pinterest.com/pin/446489750527040729/ or maybe even a momento from the wedding?Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -

I know it is not a kit but an idea I remember from Changing Rooms years ago was to take a plain glass tumbler and mask off some pretty shapes then sponge on glass paint. When dry peel off the masking and go round the edges of the shapes with an outliner. These made pretty tea light holders and she could do them to match the colour schemes in her rooms. Might be nice to buy her the bits to do something like this if all else fails! HTH0 -

Trendy I was thinking about you last night as I've missed you posting. Glad you've got another note, it really is very important that you rest and give your body time
Princess your birthday was always going to be a bit of an anticlimax with all the excitement you've had recently! I hope your new husband had a special treat for you this eveningChristmas Eve hampers are the best invention ever. My favourite day of the year:) For DGDs houses I do a very similar hamper to the one Noodles described. I like them to have them during the day, after lunch last year and include a Christmas craft set or cookie set for making in the afternoon, money for Rudolphs carrot if time to buy one at local shop or like last year I just included the carrot! Santas plate and cup, Santa key, Santa please stop here sign, festive bubble bath, reindeer flannel, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, new pjs, dressing gown, festive slippers, festive snuggle blanket, treat drinks fizzy for children, small bottles or wine for mums and few cans lager for the dads, sweets to share, popcorn and a DVD.(I reuse each year the Santa plate and cup, Santa key, please stop here sign and the snuggle blanket) christmas story book.Oooh can't wait:)
Noodles that beach bauble looks brill, I'm going to borrow that idea and get DGD to collect some little shells when we are in Oz in July and bring it home for my tree:) I bought a few polystyrene shapes and she painted them and decorated them to make into decorations for this year when we were there in January so I will have a little bit of her on my tree even tho she's 10 thousand miles away
Msgigglewick your DDs face says it all, if you could bottle that smile you could be a millionaire
Freespirit I'm glad today was better, I'm sure you are right, but the blooming "black dog" has a way of letting you know he's still around doesn't he:( I've been exhausted today, often follows a few bad days with me:( the nights are the worst, the constant nightmares and fear of going back to sleep! I was tempted to reach for an energy drink after you had such a good reaction last week but thought my body was saying it needed a catch up so allowed it todayGot DGD2 for a sleepover tonight ready for playgroup in the morning, she's guaranteed to cheer me up although I'm keeping that energy drink handy have a feeling I might need it tomorrow!
Jakesbakescakes stayed the same at this mornings weigh in, not great but not a gain so plod onIm not disappointed as I've stuck to the plan but felt yuck so wasn't expecting great things. The scales were teetering between two numbers so reckon on a more accurate set it'd be 0.5 lb loss which is just fine
Hope you do better on Wednesday xxx

Nana, freespirit and Jenny, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time
Sending you lots of hugs and hoping you feel better soon.
All those Christmas eve hampers sound amazing! If we ever have Children I think they will be in heavenSadly I can't do one with just DH and me as 1. He's the grinch in disguise (remember the shirt I made him last December
) 2. He works in retail so I never get him to myself on Christmas eve until really late and he's tired, miserable from work
Well I finally revised the tea poster with the controversial ? mark and posted last night. I was woke up by a facebook message from a friend of a friend requesting two framed - I am going out for a night on the town for the first time since August last year, so that will almost pay for it
Feeling somewhat out of control of things at the moment - DH has an operation coming up and it's in another county as he has to see a specialist. He's booked in for the 9th and although I'm glad he will finally be out of pain (had an accident in June 2012) I'm worried that his health problems could cause issues with the op. Needless to say having control of the balcony and re-organising the Christmas list has helped somewhat[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0
