Think rainbow drops would go stale after few days x choc wouldn't last that long in my house lol x

Ha ha, I know exactly what you mean. I bought three big bags of the rainbow drops to put away in case I couldn't find any nearer the time. They lasted two days - didn't realise OH likes them and now he's got me hooked too!:D

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think you're right about the rainbow drops going a bit stale so I'll get all the bits for the sweetie cones but make them a couple of days before the party. I might do a dummy run with just a couple of cones before hand so I can judge how many sweets I can get in. If they work out ok I might do some Christmas themed ones as tree presents for the jolly season.

OMO - it's a nightmare isn't it? Fortunately I don't claim benefits (at least not at the moment) but my daughter gets help with her rent and council tax and is still waiting to see how she's affected. It seems like there's been very little concrete information about these changes so it's not even been possible to plan properly. The only thing I think is fairly certain is that 'simplifying' the system is bound to mean more people lose out than benefit.

OMO is there any hope you could get your council tax re-banded to bring it down in price? We have never claimed benefits, but a few years ago DH had a cap put on the amount of hours he could work because of his heart. We possibly would have been entitled to working tax credit, but we were too young. Then when we finally hit 25 they changed the rulings! It is a constant worry for me as DH has had to go back to full time hours to pay the bills etc.

It would seem that if you are actually trying to work, you get little help or reward for doing it :( All rather unfair.

We are only band B as it is. My friend just phoned and suggested paying it over 12 months rather than 10. But I would rather pay £115 for 10 months than £96 for 12. Our local tax offices shut a few months ago and we can pay our CT at paypoints. So I have decided I am going to pay £30 a week when I am food shopping. It will take me 38 weeks and be paid up just before Christmas.

On a brighter note, topcashback money can now be changed into tesco points. So every £2.50 you have in TCB is worth £10 in tesco vouchers.:) You also get 5% added on free.
I have £20 in there (just waiting on £2.82) so have £80 in tesco vouchers.
I have heard you can only change £50, but I don't know how often you can do it.

Nanamia-Have a great time tomorrow. :) I dont want to make the cake too much in advance in case it goes stale, I was thinking of making the topper this week then baking the cake and adding the topper the day before. Hopefully that will work. I have ready coloured icing so at least I dont have to faff with that! Also have some Dr Who themed cakes/sweets to do, hope I manage to do it all in time as I actually forgot I also need to make 14 chocolate slabs before Sunday. :rotfl::eek:

Really wish I could get to a Home Bargains before Easter, they have so many easter bargains! But it really wouldnt be cost effective petrol wise to go all the way there just to get some mini eggs. :rotfl:Aldi it is!

OMO It is disgusting what they are doing, and it wont hit the workshy, !!!!!!!!!!s it will be the decent people who want to work, or who do work but are worse off, i keep seeing stories on the news about these poor people who are so worried what is going to happen to them. There was an old lady the other day who they have made move out, she was only in a 2 bed old peoples bungalow, they arent surely going to get a family in a 2 bed bungalow and what old people want noisy families living next door, she felt so settled there and was devastated and to top it all, she had to fund the move and to save up she was living on one tin of soup a day, i actually cried for her it was so sad.
TRENDYJENNY Blimey have you got a sweatshop going on in your house??? LOL :rotfl:

I have just spent 2 hrs trawling through amazon looking for sugar candy skulls cake toppers, i saw them the other day and now i cant find them typical!
