I love seeing your cakes. The last thing I baked was an pinapple upside down cake. I was 14 and in school.:(
I am known as Can't Cook Can't Cook. If it is made in one pot and never has to be made again I can do anything. I say 'never made again' because I can never remember what I put in it. I just grab things out of the cupboard and never measure anything.
It is a nightmare when the kids say' That was nice, can we have it again.':rotfl:0 -
Evening,
TRENDYJENNY Good for you go and have a wonderful weekend, i was just thinking what i used to love dancing too at school discos in the 70s and remembered the dance to Tiger Feet by Mud ha that brings back memories :rotfl:
NANAMIA Im sure we all love seeing your cakes i know i do, have made the Lorraine Pascale Malteser Cake today for my DD2 BF birthday, sorry to ask again but what do you use for your lettering on your cakes (the yellow big boy letters)? Thats great your DSIL arranging a get together bless her

PRINCESSKITTY We all come on here and talk about/vent about our lives, not just christmas, thats what makes this thread so special
FEISTY My god the stress in your life, my lovely, what horrible, horrible people, i know you said they had upset your nan a while ago, but to actually do this, they are very very selfish, why do some people think its their right to inherit other peoples money??? Anyone with a heart would want your nan to be as comfortable as possible for the rest of her days, it just flabbergasts me
Its so quiet here tonight DD1 is working tonight on the donation telephone lines for Comic Relief, she wont be back til late, then tomorrow its her birthday, shes going to london to meet up with friends from her india trip and wont be back til sunday night, so i think i am going to have a nice quiet weekend baking for her birthday and doing a nice dinner sunday night when she gets back, and just chilling out after a very het up week!#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
I'm so sorry freespirit the cutters are call tappits and they are made by FME I use florists paste rolled very very very thin until you can see right through it then use the cutters. Both lots of lettering are tappits, just different fonts. I know a lot of people have had trouble using them but I love them
I've done a few cakes similar to the maltesers one and used chocolate fingers around sides very quick but effective. Ha I'm not popping any more photos on we'd have to change the made of the thread "Nanamia shows off!!)
I'm glad you are here freespirit, happy birthday to your DDvolunteering tonight well done her ( not hard to see where her kindness comes from) Hope she has a good time and comes home with loads to tell you ready to be spoilt rotten
Try to relax tomorrow, I love to bake to relax put some music on and enjoy. Chuckling now thinking of you dancing round the kitchen to tiger feet
I've a few CDs which are Jackie (the magazine) which brings up some blasts from the past. It's funny how music does that
It can be so therapeutic too - I've been with a friend today while she had the line that's been giving her chemo this week removed:( she was dreading it but we put some music on my phone and chattered and it was soon done
one very happy friend xxx

Nana I love seeing the cakes! Gives me inspiration
freespirit, your daughter sounds like a mini version of you - very kind hearted!
Well I fell off the vegan wagon and enjoyed a dominos last night, it was most definitely worth it - think I may treat myself once a month as it makes it a little easier to keep at it
Not surprisingly most of my dreams last night seemed to center around my NanWill try and get down to her today, even if it is only briefly
Have to go bowling in a few hours for my second cousins birthday - I hate bowling and am feeling a bit grumpy about spending money on something I loathe so much, but my cousins children have had such a rough time of it lately (with all our Nan related dramas, my cousin was her main carer and is power of lasting attorney) that I really want to make the effort.

What a nightmare Feisty
It's probably best to go back to the original solicitor who handled the sale and ask for advice and all the appropriate paperwork. If it is unreasonable to get it all ready by the end of March then the solicitor could be able to request an extension.
In the meantime, get signed witness statements from anyone who has dealt with the cousins in question to the effect that they refused to take part in the day to day care before the residential care home was broached and their actions re telling your Nan that the house was sold and she is homeless. Ask the council (was it the council who requested the 800/week costs?) for a confirmation letter that given the asset of the house they needed those costs from you.
Families can be so difficult, but as long as you've done the right thing your cousins are clearly just trying it on.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Am feeling a bit stressed today. I realised this morning I haven't booked the car in for its MOT. It is due on the 28th, but obviously need it done before. I have got to Tax in April, but haven't had the reminder, so will have to get a form. I can't remember what you need to do it on-line. And can't do that until I have a new MOT.
And to top it off I still haven't had my new council tax bill. How I am supposed to budget for it when they haven't told me what it is, is beyond me.0 -

I have a love hate relationship with my car - love driving, hate the associated costs! So feel your pain!
I think most places have froze council tax, ours have, maybe worth a look on their website.Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0
