So my question is this -what sort of prizes(preferably food but also other) would make you guys enter a contest by signing up to become new followers of a blog?

Personally it would be a gadget that I've always wanted but is a big spend so haven't quite got round to purchasing - lilke a breadmaker! :)
On top of that i'm also majorly stressed about my wedding in 2 1/2 weeks time! Today I really can't think straight and i've got lists coming out of everywhere! In an effort to be MSE I decided to do my own flowers and cake but now i'm constantly worried that they're going to be rubbish and i've put a lot of pressure on myself! :(

Sorry to rant and I know my problems aren't really that bad in the scheme of things, but i'm having a bit of a melt down today and didn't know where to turn.....

Sorry to hear you're so stressed, but I'm sure your flowers and cake will look beautiful on the day. All eyes will be on you and hubby, they are just background noise! The last wedding I went to, I hardly saw the cake, just watched the bride and groom cutting into it and it was whisked away to be served out to the guests. I hope you have a wonderful day.
dropsofjupiter, how exciting! I didnt want to add any of the capital from our current flat sale (lucky to make enough to cover legal fees for next move/stamp duty) but the target is moving so slowly I think we may have to :(

I too have no doubt you will reach your target, your crafts are just so beautiful, if I hadn't been saving like a madwoman for years I would definitely have succumbed by now.

Thanks to all for the congratulations re the house, am so excited! Have now had quotes from solicitors so getting there slowly.

  • Thanks OMO and dropsofjupiter. OMO those M&S cakes are beautiful, its definitely worth thinking about. I had a major wobble today but I'm really trying my best to stay calm. I found a picture on Pinterest a while ago of a cake display I love:

    http://pinterest.com/pin/568086940465992262/

It doesn't involve any icing so should be fairly straightforward. I love to bake cakes and its part of who I am and that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. I didn't want everything in my wedding to be picture perfect, I wanted it to be quite rustic. I just don't wasn't it all to look a mess! But if it stresses me too much I'll get on the phone to M&S!

On another note OH received a letter from HM Revenue & Customs today saying he owes them A LOT of money from his days as a contractor. :( That was about 4 years ago, we can't believe it has now cropped up just as we're about to get married and I'm about to lose my job! :(

We just keep reminding ourselves that far worse things could be happening to us, its only a wedding and its only money!

Sorry I'm wittering on about myself again, I made some notes at work today about people's posts I wanted to comment on so I'll do that in the morning when I'm back at work. x

  • Ha ha thanks OMO that did make smile! :D Some of them are truly awful and I really feel for the brides! I'm hoping that as I'm not icing them then I won't go that wrong! And as for the bride that had a cake of herself made - well I've really seen it all! I can't think what would possess someone....

Fiesty I do feel like chickening out. I might have one last practice and if I'm not happy I will re-think my plans. This wedding business is far too stressful for my liking!

Princesskitty where in the country are you? I'd love to help you recreate the Pintrest cakes. I'm in Manchester if that's any use. It seriously would be a pleasure.
I hate to think of you stressing out:( the most important thing is your wedding is about you and DH and your love for each other and the many many years to come you'll have together. Cakes, flowers bills etc are just "things" yeh they stress you both out and Sod's law says they misbehave when you don't want them too but please remember it's your day :) The start of the rest of your lives together which is so exciting :)

Sending huge huge hugs and my offer is still there I'd love to help :) xxx

Freespirit where are you I'm worried???
I do hope that yesterday's health hiccups haven't set you back :( please pop in let us know you are ok :) xxx

Hello, Just a quick note from me as I left the UK in a bit of a last minute dash last weekend and didn't get to say cheerio to you all!

Tomorrow is my wedding day (today where you are!) and I'm just heading off to bed for the night. Wishing you all well for now and look forward to catching up on posts in a couple of weeks!

Take care and hugs to those who need them x
