Trying to sort out a collection for some of my nans furniture, but no one wants it :(

Advertise them free to someone to restore them? I agree about not sending them to the tip. My grandmother did that with her 1940s dark wood wardrobes and it was heartwrenching.

  • Snuggle bunny, can I ask what survey sites you use?

I've signed up to various in the past but stopped as they would make you answer 5 minutes worth of questions and then cheekily tell you you weren't eligible so wouldn't get points!

hi hun, of course - I use Valued 0pinions, I find them very good, the surveys are always interesting - I find I get one or sometimes 2 offered a day and they do pay fairlyfor your time. You do have to do what I think is 'screening' where they check if you are presumably the target group of people they want for the survey, they don't usually take long though, I really enjoy doing them. They pay you in vouchers either online or offline each time you reach £10 payable and they mount up quickly.

Had £10 come payable just and when I clicked on M&S its now showing as on online voucher? whereas before ive always had an actual voucher in the post to use in store - anyone else had this? I wonder if they are only for use online if thats the case? I collect them for in store food for Christmas, so this time I went for Amazon instead as I buy quite a bit for gifts from there
  • Hi all, I just have a quick question - would you buy any toiletries for Christmas this year now? The reason I ask is because as some of you know i'm planning to put together a chocolate themed hamper for my friend, and the Body Shop have currently got a promotion on where you get 30% off and free delivery on anything over £5. I have my eye on some Chocomania soap and Chocomania lip butter which would only cost £3.90 after discount and free p&p. I'm just not sure how well it would keep until Christmas? I've never bought things like this so far in advance before!

It keeps very well in my experience - I opened a Chocomania body butter last night that Ive had for year sealed and its perfect - I stocked up last Valentines as they thought it might be a limited edition and there was a great offer on. I talked to the girl in store about it recently, she told me their stuff kept in a cool dark cupboard should keep for at least 3 years un opened. Ive got cranberry and also Vanilla stuff I bought last New year (2012) (bought for us as we all use their shower/bath gel stuff) and they are prefect too just kept in a box in the bedroom - understairs cupboard is a perfect place!

I would certainly buy it now for Christmas and be happy it would keep great.

My big sale order from Dotcomgiftshop came - so exciting. Some little bits for my new house, some Christmas gifts and more exciting some christmas decorations, advent calendar etc. I also bought three of their big storage bags, have put all my decs in there. I also got some reduced in tesco last month, by November time I'll have forgotten what I got so it's going to be a lovely surprise to open up the bags to my new stuff!!!
