  • Good evening all, need to catch up so please excuse me if I've missed anything important. Good luck with moving and new placements and jobs and babies, from what I saw on my whizz through!

Just wanted to have a little moan I'm afraid, I came to the end of my mobile contact (a month or so ago if truth be told but I hate ringing Orange so have been putting it off) and so finally rang them to see about lowering my bill. I was offered one of their standard packages, albeit with a £5 discount, however the data amount included within it was about half what I use every month, as the bloke offering it would know as he had just looked at my usage to pick a package! I told them that I could get a better deal elsewhere and they didn't even try and keep me as a customer, just sent me on my way with my PAC code and a bunch of terms and conditions! Bit put out on the whole :)

Their loss. If they can't even try and keep a customer, then more fool them. Heard good things about Giff Gaff, but I'm with tesco mobile & have been for years. Best thing I ever did was switch to PAYG & tesco are very cheap for how I use my phone. Worth a look to see if they would be good for you. I love the fact they don't keep bombarding you with texts constantly (like I had with orange!).

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • Agree with Ruth_ honey re Tesco mobile. Before DH and I were married, we both had contract phones, as used to call / text each other a lot!
Best MSE thing we did after we got married was to get PAYG phones. We have nice but basic phones, just use for calls and texts, no fancy stuff! £10 lasts me ages, at least 2 months, sometimes more.

Had a good flurry of snow here this morning. DH, bless him, offered to take me to / collect me from work, as he knows how much it freaks me out. Every year I tell myself I will not be scared of driving in it, but every year I fail!

Bedtime now, night all, sleep tight xxx

Same here. Are you on the value/basic tariff? I pay 4p per text! :T

  • craftymummy Do visit the Pavilion while you're in Brighton. I live close to there and had never visited but my parents had and recommended it, it's great for couple of hours. And there are often vouchers for it as well. If you park at the marina you can walk into Brighton along the sea front. Keep to the path otherwise you'll come across the naturist beach, as I did with my daughter ! :embarasse
Parking is really dear in town and the traffic wardens are very hot on towing away!!:(
I love walking along the pier with a bag of chips - cheap date I am :rotfl:

Dropsofjupiter, I'm with virgin media. I pay £7.99 a month, for 500mb of Internet, 500 texts and 500 mins (with unlimited calls to virgin mobiles and landlines). I got this on a 24 month contract with my pick of the latest phones. I know my package is somewhat low (it's my business mobile) but they have other ones with great prices hth
