Xmas Saver!
Morning All,

Head is Ok this morning, bet it will hit me at about 4 this afternoon.

No snow here yet, but it is VERY cold.

Need to go into town today or tomorrow to collect a cushion from Argos and some cosy socks from Marks.
I really don't want to go out in the cold today, I would rather pick them up tomorrow after work. But if it does snow tonight I won't want to go in tomorrow either. Oh what a dilemma :rotfl:

Dd still in her cosy warm bed, so I will wait for her to get up and see if she wants to go out today. Bet she does :(

weeclick How are you? Been watching the News. Hope you are safe.

OMO hope you are feeling better. thanks for the info about adpoints, I will have a look

feistyfidget wow your dress was gorgeous and you looked stunning

caitlin that dress is lovely. i too think you should go with what you want.

moneysavingmumofone glad you are feeling better, that must have been scary

sugarspun congratulations:j

nanamia glad you arrived safely and that you are having a wonderful time with your family

eljaycock your dd sounds really sweet and caring

OMO/feisty I too have been reading the boots sale thread. Some people get very carried away by it all. I have been for he past 4/5 years but I have bought less and less each year as here are only so many times you can give people toiletries (even repackaged in a hamper):D I will still go his year:D but not till mid/late morning as i have to wait in for a delivery. The first few years were fairly quiet now it is very busy but still civilised. I would ignore the person who said boots gifts are tat, I think he/she was only there to wind people up. I would be very happy to receive a boots gift set.

we have no snow here but the sky is getting greyer:(

Well a good day and a difficult day.
Had dd's b'day party today. Cupcake decorating party for her and 8 of her friends. She was 8 last weekend. But the day was always going to be tinged with sadness as it would have been my sons 9th birthday today. Grace wascrealy sweet and made a cake specially for him which we took to his grave after her party. Then she gave one to me hecause she knew i missed him. That was it i fell to bits, shes so sweet at times.

Oh well another year gone by.
Your daughter sounds wonderfully kind and caring bless her. Sending huge hugs to you. xxx

Eljaycock, I am sending you great big massive hugs. Your daughter sounds adorable, hold her tight and be proud of what she said/did.

moneysavingmumofone - Can you stay in cottages then? I was tempted to do it this year, but my cousin started banging on about how there are lots of hidden fees, you can't pick where you stay etc :( Would love it on the cheap as by the time you have factored in food, the cost is ridiculous even without entertainment! We would need to take doggies too :)
The sun and Daily mail holidays are caravans and sometimes chalets. You can book online with both to choose exactly where you stay (I think Daily Mail has better availability) and there are extra charges for some sites for entertainment passes and a service charge per night. These are clearly listed though so no nasty shocks! For example it cost me £49 inc booking fee (£1.90) for 5 people then it will cost me £4.50 pp entertainment pass and £6.75 a night service charge. (for electric etc) so £98.50 altogether. Far cheaper than I could have got anywhere else in the October half term, I paid £275 for our caravan last October and that was classed as cheap! They also state whether dogs are allowed so you can choose accordingly. :)

Well, we're off in a minute to see The Hobbit, not my cup of tea really but DS wants to see it and seeing as he had a very boring day yesterday and Ive been a bit of a grump this morning due to toothache I think he deserves it! :o Its not on until 4.40pm so will have a look around the shops first. :) Hope you all have a nice sunday, am off to begrudgingly give the bus driver £8 for our fare!

Off to look online now at the Daily Mail holidays :) It's DH birthday then (and it's when we usually book off), so hopefully we can get a bargain :)

Have spent a few minutes on freecashback - have so far earned just under £15 :) Seeing as I also have 30 days free netflix and a graze box, not too shabby at all ;) I will transfer it as soon as it clears and it will then go in the ISA for our house deposit - sadly we are a long, long way off our total :(

• happy sunday everyone - alas no snow here but we've got a beautiful sunny day so can't complain. Have had a sad week, our boy cat died unexpectedly on monday eveing due to a massive blood clot that left him paralysed. Whilst this was very sad the vet assured us it was pain-free for him and it certainly was quick. Perhaps more sad, our girl cat (his sister) has been wandering the house all week meewwing and trying to find him - has really pulled at my heart strings. The children seem to be taking it well though and youngest DS age 5 has triumpuntly announced "we can get a kitten now!!!" hmmmmm

On a brighter note I have spent my entire morning uploading items to sell on eb@y and i have also finished knitting the shawl for my poorly SIL. If any of you remember it was my NYR to learn to upload photos so i will try that later with a shawl pic!

Sugarspun - many congrats, lovely news
Eljaycock - sending you mahoosive hug, what a gorgeous daughter you have, you must be very proud

jakesbakescakes, that is so sad. Sending you my sympathies x

Have signed up to the Daily Mail holidays, but after looking at a few reviews on tripadvisor I will admit to being a little hesitant. I understand that you get what you pay for, but I'm wondering if we should should just spend an extra £50 and get a self catering cottage instead.
