Well lovelies yet again you've brought tears to my eyes. It's so wonderful of you all to wish us well on our adventure :) I'm starting to believe it is real- we are going :)
Text DS a short while ago and was able to say (cos of the time difference) "see you tomorrow tea time" It's a wonderful feeling, I'm so full of joy I wish I could share it with those who are feeling a bit down in the dumps.

We've had friends calling in and ringing throughout the day wishing us a safe journey etc and sending love to DSs family, we really are so very lucky. Privileged to be surrounded by wonderful people (including you lot)

DSiL was on good form woo hooo safe to go away now knowing she can only go from strength to strength :) I will miss her tho - have been promised twice daily updates.

Drops of Jupiter we have an open ended ticket but roughly about four weeks:) I know I'm spoilt! And am very very lucky.
    Night night xxx

  • Nanamia - I hope you have a wonderful time. My break in the sunshine is sadly heading to a close however it's making the thought of remaining winter bearable. Just think, by the time you come back we will be well through February and nearly into spring:)

Woke up for work nice and early (NYR not to be late for everything) but I'm really feeling the CBA attitude too :( My placement today is going to be somewhat difficult - I have most of my Nurses refuse to work here :(

Fingers crossed the days goes quickly!

Need to think of something funny as a valentines pressie for dh.. ideas anyone? he has a nerdy sense of humour, likes sci fi, murder dramas, outdoors... (im trying very hard to save up so he can have a balloon ride for his 40th so nothing along those lines really.) just something silly.

I am really sorry as I am about to be negative but is the balloon ride set in stone. Does he really want it? We got given a balloon ride as a xmas present once. These last for a year. Well we tried to book it over and over during the year and no success and so the ticket became void. This was because firstly you you have to book your date (these were very limited in our area), then you never know till the midnite before your date to see if the wind is going in th right direction or any other major thing is happening in the air space etc etc for flying. When you have passed all the numerous hurdles, then you drive ages to get there only to be told that actually the wind is wrong again, sorry, please go back home.
Sorry. But I was really really dissapointed not to go on it.
So just check in your area what the success rate of actually flying is.....

A home made treasure hunt with silly crazy sci-fi /murder things?
I am thinking of doing an action man type hamper for my oh for either birthday or xmas this year - he likes the action films. It would probably have a mixture things like cocktail shakers and glasses and some 'serious' action movies like james bond , and the less serious like kung fu panda and Duece Bigallo, maybe some action man type food ie lots of meat etc. Early process of planning this at the moment.
So maybe you can do something similar but as a sci fi / murder treasure hunt.
Maybe a murder mystery game that he will have to invite his friends round later to play?
    good luck

This might be very silly and totally impractical for a birthday party but I've bought modelling clay before in fairly large pieces, quite cheap. Could you maybe break sections off in little bags with nice labels for the kids to make hand-prints in? More for the parents I know but a nice keepsake easily achieved. I've done something similar with kids at events in an previous job so know the air-drying stuff would be suitable but not sure about other kinds of clay.
    !
    Hi ya,
what a fab idea. I have been thinking something like this but had not yet got to the how. Where on earth do u buy moddeling clay from? Also does it dry and keep the impressions? Does it break? Can you paint it?

what I actually wanted to get was these below (much cheaper and v v nice looking) but I had left it soo late that they would not have got here in time
