to save bumping the comp post, I've started a thread for this in the Comping Chat Corner.

I'm wondering if there is anything we can do to help? Like, suppose Abbie posts about this on their FB page, explaining that she didn't hear anything about it, and asking if they don't think it's perhaps a little unfair that she won this comp, then so quickly lost it.

Then, perhaps we can add our support by liking her comment and adding our own polite and friendly support. You never know, if enough of us join in, they might relent.

What do peeps think?

True but I guess we could politely register that it's a little unfair to do that with only 24 hours to claim.

Edit: I went to their FB page, liked her comment and added my own. Come on guys. We're a team, let's get some MSE power going?

Thank you so so much all of you, and to Blulu for starting this thread and adding her support.

I have messaged Monkey on their fb page and on their website, so am waiting to hear. Not holding out much hope as rules are rules, but you never know.

The think is I entered the competition on their website (where you had to take the theory part of their driving test) and I then had to post my results on their fb page. I can't be positive but am pretty sure I had to give my details to them on their website so I don't see why they couldn't have messaged me direct from there given the size of the prize

To complicate things my username on fb is Les A Mse Bain not Abbie. The page was initially set up for my daughter but she never used it so I took it over for myself. I didn't realise there was still a bit in my profile somewhere that had her name registered, I have now changed that. Regardless, when they posted the win to fb they have my profile clearly shown as Les A Mse Bain, and any message/tag would have come to me.

This prize would have been the biggest thing I have ever won, and the only way I would ever get an iPad as I certainly could never afford to buy one. However I am not going to let this spoil my xmas, worse things happen. If they do not give me it I will just have to chalk it up to experience and move on. I would however be wary of entering fb comps in future, as if the company cannot tell you you have won I don't see any point in entering.

Again I am really grateful for this thread and all of your support, and I hope you all have a lovely xmas

Ive commented too. Ive sent them a (hopefully) polite reminder of the power of word of mouth and how great it would be if they could honour something.

I hope that the next winner won't get abuse from other people if they win and decide to keep both as they won the comp fair and square. I also hope that the people who run the competition don't get any abuse as they may think twice about running competitions in future.

Lets just hope that we can appeal to Monkey's sense of goodwill and lastkiss will get her prize.

Shouldn't be a problem in future as prizes will not roll over now.

Monkey LizGodrestyemerryTempleman - don't you think its a bit hypocritical to enter competitions when it suits you, but report them to Facebook when they don't go your way? I'm looking at your own profile right now and you're entering loads of competitions which technically break FB rules in one way or another...

If people are going to make comments that hint towards us not being honest with things then I will prove we're not posting things without the intention of spending the money. As of right now, the new competition policy is unclaimed prizes will not roll over into new prize draws - a suitable cash value will be donated to one of our supported charities instead. I have donated £50 to Great Ormond Street childrens hospital and you can see it listed under monkey.co.uk here - http://www.justgiving.com/greatormondstreet
