I reserve the jelly stock for the freezer for gravy, soup, risotto etc and use the carcass for soup straight away.

Only £2.98 at Amazon, absolutey brilliant :D

Every single receipe has a photo of the ready dish, glossy pages (great for using in the kitchen), small (smaller than A5) size so easy to keep anywhere.

As a MFW, I am always looking for ways to saving money and maximise my overpayments.

I happened to stumble on this thread by accident and it is really interesting to see what you guys have done.

I've decided to take the plunge today and when looking in the internet for a cheap one, I came across this:-
    http://www.johnlewis.com/230223132/Product.aspx

Also found it for £9.74 at Curry's (don't forget Quidco)
    http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/968582?source_id=aw&camp_id=HotUKDeals

I think it is £19.99 everywhere else.

Can't wait to dip my toe into the world of slow cooking. :)

I've just put Sausage and Onion Casserole in mine - taken from Slow Cooking Properly Explained. Yum, yum, yum.

Will serve up later with carrots, broccoli and mashed potato.

Just had a look at this, but sadly it's out of stock at the moment.

I have bought my brother a slow cooker for Christmas as he seemed interested and am putting together a folder of recipes to start him off. I have one slow cooker book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Real-Food-Slo-cooker-Annette-Yates/dp/057202536X/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261323880&sr=1-12) which is quite good, but I tend to experiment and chuck stuff in, so i'll copy some of these rather than give him 'add a bit of chilli etc' :p

Does anyone know any good websites with recipes that would be good to start him off with?
