Home Bargains tinned lemon sponge - feeling really lazy, so just threw it in the beef juices and carrots etc after I'd taken the piece of brisket out to 'rest' (I *did* take the label off first though

I found this thread earlier in the year, and went and bought a SC, made a pork casserole that was only fit for the bin and i havent used it since, but now its getting cold again and i have a newborn, i think i might start using it.
My newborn has a habit of screaming the house down at the crucial point of cooking or getting it on the plate, hence to say that we have had quite a few burnt meals over the last few weeks.
I think the error i made with my pork casserole was that i didnt brown the pork off so i could smell half cooked meat all day that put me off.
If i put something in to cook at say 9.30am will it be ready for about half 4. As i really cant get it in the pot before 9.30 and the kids like their tea about half 4 to 5 o'clock.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

They normally say 7 hours on high, so should be ok but I am by no means an expert. I go through stages of using my SC and hacve got some recipes off here that I am going to try this week. I just love coming home to the smell of food cooking hmmmmMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
