but i am going to just chop it all up and put the ingredients straight in
I thought it might be best to reduce the amount of liquid suggested and then keep an eye on it

I've got chicken breast, sliced leeks and cabbage, onions and potatos cut into wedges steaming away with just half a litre of veg stock. Fingers crossed it's a yummy meal for tonight and tomorrow when I get home.

We all have been a bit ill as well (OH is signed off sick-doc reckons he had swine flu, but now has a secondary infection due to his immune system being hit by the SF) and the say chicken soup is good for that.

Bored jelly bean - try a tin of Tesco value curry sauce (4p - yes 4p not a typo) and a tin of tomatoes. Combine this with any veg you have and some meat (fresh roadkill is cheapest) for a tasty, nutritious and economic meal especially when served with 'value' rice which is typically around 77p/kg.

Yummy instructions from Keith969 (post 2770, page 139)

Well, I made this at the weekend and it was YUMMY!!! :D

I will do it again and chuck in some carrots as well. I might also make the chunks of beef a little bigger - I think mine were about 3/4 inch rather than 1 inch size.

    Thanks Keith!!

I think Pataks pastes are hard to beat for a quick meal, especially after adding a bit more onion/ginger/garlic. Thanks for posting. :T

I will look out for the 4p sauces though. :j
  • Today I have chicken breasts, onion, peas, carrots, lloyd grossmans tomato and chilli sauce and baked beans.

A strange combination, but it's everything I had available today. Mr T isn't delivering until tomorrow :o
    Need to start again :o
