Mine has been working v hard since last night, made a batch of pasta sauce overnight (what with fresh bread and the smell of tomatoes, I thought I had woken up in a pizzaria this morning) and is currently bubbling away with a curried lentil soup.

The smell is driving me mad.

I do like the sound of christmas pudding in SC.

Will do but you might need to wait 8 weeks for the answer :rotfl:

What does the actual pudding look like, or let us know when it has come out of the SC. Are you putting in a dish inside?

Now, when you say recipe I get scared! It was mostly the fact that I had some rather manky looking veg to use up.

    I threw in: 2 carrots
    2 potatoes
    half a courgette
    a bit of broccoli
    some wild mushrooms
    onion
    a cup of lentils
    a litre of stock
a bit of paste made up of curry powder and a few herbs.

I browned the veg off in a wok and bunged it all in the sc on high. Dunno how it is going to turn out. I tried to taste a bit when I stirred it but I burnt my mouth.:o

My sort of soup! Manky vegetables are great for that.
  • This thread has just inspired me to buy a slow cooker - it'll be worth it in the long run won't it?

Christmas pud was done in a 2pt basin in the SC. Just mixed all the ingredients up and squished them in the basin then popped it in the SC with some boiling water. Took it out about 9.30 last night and it smelled gorgeous!!! I cant really tell what it looks like cos its still in the basin but the top bit looks like it may be a tiny bit dry. Guessing this wont be the case once I have drowned it in alcohol though :rotfl:
First impressions are that it sure looks and smells like a proper Christmas pud but I guess the decision will be in the tasting :D
