I used long grain rice, as that is all I have currently. Basmati makes a good substitute for arborio rice.

    A wait for it
    Christmas pud :rotfl:
Got a new SC book and found a recipe for Christmas pud but it takes 6-8 weeks to fully make. Really want to make this years pud but would hate for it to be rubbish sooooooo I am making this one as a trial :o. Not totally sure about the destructions but think that it takes about 10 hrs on high (does this sound right???) then needs to go in a cool dark place and fed brandy/rum for the 6-8 weeks. Really hope it turns out ok

Sausage casserole - packet mix. Too much to do today. Fried the onions first and browned the sausages as I've never cooked them this way before.

Forgot to report back on brushing the SC with oil - it did seem to stop the spattering sticking so will do it again.

Think I'll defrost the chicken to cook tomorrow.

Potato and leek soup today, my mam gave me some leeks so i've used half to make a chicken and leek pie and the rest in the soup with some spuds that needed using.

Yesterday was sweet and sour pork with extra veg added - i'm trying to use my slow cooker more so i can have HM meals in the freezer when we need something quick and easy.

Beef stew and dumplings. I am making Porkolt (after a quick google!), as I'm fed up with the usual.

I have a home made tomoato/chilli sauce for pasta. I left it overnight and I freeze portions. better than buying the ready sauces off the shelf as you don;t always know what is in them??
I threw in 3 tins of tomatoes, 2 boxes of passata, and nearly a full tube of tom puree.fried off 3 onions 3 chilli's (we love chilli though!) a few sticks of curly celery, garlic, Woucester Sauce, little sugar and salt and pepper, a few herbs and some fresh basil chopped finely. if it isn;t chilli enough then I will pop some Tabasco in ;) I just keep adding stuff until it is an inch from the top and leave it on low all night.
    Tastes delish!

I need to sort it into portions for the freezer as I need my SC I am doing lamb Rogan today with whoopsied lamb pieces :)

No room in the freezer so the chicken will be done tomorrow. Oh and after concluding that it was a good idea to brush oil I completely forgot yesterday and some of the veg overcooked and stuck to the SC :(
