Can fish be done in the sc? I have done many a bean or soya meat substitute casserole deliciously with lots of veg, we don't eat four-legged animals or fowl.
    Many thanks.

Yes, it cooks really well. You can also poach it in there (as opposed to casserole).

I've done that before. Lightly brown in a frying pan, and cook on auto setting. You'll be fine.

This is maybe not the best place to put this, but I have defrosted too much chicken breast....if I make something with it will I be able to refreeze it when its cooked. IF not when I cook it, how long will it last in the fridge(i dont want to have chicken 2 days in a row) :)

Its ok to freeze something raw, cook it and then freeze it again so long as its cooled quickly and you follow all the proper hygeine rules.

(yesterday) Shepherds pie - beef mince, red wine, Knorr stock cube, red onion, L&P, carrots, sweet corn.

Delicious and used the excess liquid for gravy. Wish I'd made more.

I've never thought to make shepherds pie in the slow cooker. When did you add the topping?

As the SC wasn't full I transferred it to a smaller casserole dish and added it just before serving which also allowed me to reserve the excess liquid. I got the usual "I'm not eating that" followed by a clean plate some time later :)

Not sure if my SC is hotter than most but I find it cooks pretty quickly on high, this took about 3 hours.

Chicken korma made with chicken thighs, Patak's korma paste, a can of coconut milk, onions, lentils and spinach. Yummy and it made an extra portion for the freezer.

Nothing yet but going to do a sausage casserole later. Going to brown off some steak links then add them to the SC with a tin of baked beans, carrot, onion, pots, mushrooms and some chopped toms  (think thats all).
Used to make this recipe when my son was a baby (didnt have a SC then:eek:) and he LOVES is - havent made it for ages but got the beef links reduced in Tesco yesterday and couldnt think what to do with them so I guess its a treat for him :D
