Well I diced the chicken in the end as the breasts were different sizes, some onions some mushrooms and went to the town. Back and it smells delish. It is a bit thin but I will put it in a pot and boil it down a bit

Instead of doing that just stir in some flour while still in the SC. I always add too much liquid I'm new to them too. Must admit I don't like packet mixes.

Yeah, I had a think and just added a bit cornflour. Looks lovely (and tastes great!). The chicken is so soft! Usually it goes kinda rubbery no matter how you cook it, but mmmm...... Got chips on (mega craving for curry and chips) and just waiting on the husband arriving home :D

Today I shall be having Chicken tonight from my slow cooker, not very OS buying in a sauce, but I would have no idea how to do low fat honey and mustard sauce like that, anyway should be good!

I always use ordinary flour too, and agree packet mixes aren't for me, as I always ending adding loads of stuff anyway. Might be good if someone was pushed for time, perhaps?

They never seem to taste right to me, either too bland or completely unlike what they're supposed to be. The ingredients list is a good start if you want to make your own though ;)

I read somewhere that for small amounts of liquid cornflour was OK but with any larger amount flour is better. I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable to know when to switch ...! :rotfl:

I can't be bothered to buy cornflour, thats why I don't use it, and have you read the ingredients on some of the packet mixes .

Re. ingredients - that's why I described them as a start and absolutely why I avoid them :)

Hi tiami-easier to just add a teaspoon or 2 of cornflour? Just mix with a tiny bit of cold water & add-1/2 hr b4 you eat it-less hassle than boiling it down-you'll lose all that lovely gentle cooked flavour (!) & more washing up!

    .

hi would plain flour work if no cornflour? i am new to all this and have a hm curry in the s/c at the moment but i think iv put to much liquid in and i dont know how o thicken it up??

    thanks lisa x

Wait until its nearly finished so you'll know if there's too much liquid.
