In mine today I have a lamb shoulder with a mixture of HM natural yoghurt, mint sauce and lots of garlic and a chopped onion. I put it together last night so the flavours would soak into the lamb and my whole house smells of garlic this mornign, which is nice!
I don't know what it'll taste like but I saw a similar recipe on this thread thought 'hmmmm' and have had a go!
I shall update later ....0 -

I always add an inch of water to the bottom of the slow cooker when I'm doing a whole chicken. Mine takes around 6 hours on low, and it comes out sooo tender - literally falling off the bones. In fact I've never been able to get the damn thing out of the cooker in one go - it just falls apart!0 -

You don't need to put any water in as the chicken cooks in it's own juices, I've got a 6.5l sloco & 6 hours gives you a chicken that falls apart as you lift it out - in fact would recommend folding a couple of foil strips underneath to help you lift it out!
As for the veg part - I've always put them in under the chicken, but would be tempted to give them a quick steam in the micro first just to make sure they're softened slightly. I've never had a problem with it but I know a common complaint is that carrots particularly are still a bit hard when there's not so much liquid involved.
Ooh, the other thing to remember is that while it completely cooks it doesn't colour the chicken - if that's a problem you can get around this by giving it a blast under the grill at the very end or (my favourite) using a bit of olive oil, salt and Bisto rubbed on the skin before putting in the pot to give the *illusion* of colour...ahhhhh!
Hope it's lovely for you - my mouth is watering now, and tea's never going to be ready if I don't get it in soon! :rotfl:0 -

Sausage casserole in ours today:
12 sausages (6 are beef and 6 pork!)
onion
carrots
beef stock (oxo)
tomato puree
worcester sauce
will add some gravy powder at the end if needed.
serving with mash (from freezer, always make way too much!!!)
and yorkie puds, i've got a packet mix for them i bought ages ago and found in the back of the cupboard, says it went out of date Jan09, so only a day out of date think they'll be ok!!!:p
