Just my 2p worth, but it's time you told her to start moving her a$$, stop whinging and help out since she's not contibuting anything else! Or am I being a grumpy old g1t?

Anyway, back to the other problem, can't you just buy the missing cables, rather than a new Freeview box?

I have, many times, much to my lovely girlfriend's annoyance who thinks i'm being too hard on her sister

I have indeed bought the new cables........scart lead and rf cable or something - £2.88 from Tesco! Working now

Still, can't watch the cricket and my music channels have dropped from about 15 to 2!

Not totally as freeview doesn't have Sky One, Two or Living

I don't blame her for being annoyed, but it aint my fault the builders are tw!ts!

No cricket, CL football tomorrow or music channels for me.

I'm dreading how much it will cost for me to get SKY out

  • i've recently had sky installed and have experienced the same problem with the same error message especially when trying to get the "terrestrial channels". strangely most of the "sky" channels carry on working fine.

i found that turning the sky box off and leaving it for a while before turning it back on seems to have done the trick. well it did it for me.

I think it is £65 for a call-out. But you can try the "too expensive, I'll get cable instead" or some other ploy and they might waive it. It's worked for others.

Sylvester just phone sky up on a thursday or friday and tell them you are cancelling your subscription because your sky box isnt working.they will give you the rubbish about sky insurance, just tell them you cannot afford insurance so your going to have to cancel.

i bet they send someone out free of charge thats what they did for me last month.

They have just offered me a sky+ for £49 which considering they wanted more just for a call out is a good deal. Just tell them what buster1967 said, they will soon offer a free call out.

Sounds like Sky is the least of your problems.

Have looked outside and can't see any differences.

Instead of calling out a sky engineer check your local aerial services (yellow pages) and ask them if they can come out today and realign the LNB. When the LNB moves it's not visible to the eye. It should be cheaper than sky or a new freeview box. Plus tell them it's urgent - Liverpool are playing tonight!
