Maybe try gumtree? Is the room quite expensive? If not I wouldn't worry - there are always lots of people looking for rooms.

tried gumtree and loot. it is a bit expensive but it includes all bills

anyways. life goes on. really worried about the flat tho and not finding a flatmate - only got 3 people interested which really isn't enough. :(

Don't worry so much - you only need one. It'll be fine.

I know what you mean about exs flirting on online forums! I just stopped using the forum as it just wasn't worth the aggro.

That's one thing I can't criticise without being hypocritical, as I've been insensitive in that area.
Make sure you completly sepperate your finances and get his name off everything you can as you dont want him changing his mind and trying to come back! It would be typical of someone like him! They think the grass will be greener but as they usually find out, it isn't!

You also want to try to limit the financial damage he can do.

I tried to close joint accounts etc with Lloyds TSB. What a complete pile of crap they are. They wanted one signature to close the account, but two to take my name off it (account in credit). Then they wanted two signatures to do both.

    Then they weren't sure...

Start now, it may take a long time...

Strange, when I tried to close my joint account at Lloyds after my ex had emptied it on the condition that it paid his share of the mortgage (as agreed until he signed it over). Needless to say he took the money but didnt pay the mortgage and yes I am that dumb that I thought he would do the right thing.

Anyway I am rambling in circles! He left 3p in there (v generous) and after finding this site, I thought wow I should really get internet banking, so I did and noticed that we could get an overdraft on our joint account!

So I went to Lloyds, I was told I couldnt close the account or take my name off of it without his permission but he could get an overdraft without mine!

I had to get a manager out to explain that I would not be prepared to pay half of an overdraft and that I was worried he would do something dodgy. All they would do was to put the account on dispute so it needed two signatures for anything.

I still worry about this as I cant get the account closed and I trust banks as far as I can throw them!

Yep, fortunately I am still in reasonable contact with the XOH and obtained her signature.

It's for this reason that I would NEVER open a joint account with LTSB again, and I will be moving my account when my supersaver ends.

Cahoot took 2 mouse clicks to close.

You could try the FSA, as it's an unreasonable condition.

I think I will try the FSA as Lloyds are useless and dont get a mortgage through them!!

I have to wait until the transfer of our flat is signed and sealed and we split up in October and the $%&er has taken this long to sign. He agreed a price at the time, but I think he enjoys playing games with me so is dragging it out. Until then I am spending a small fortune on chocolate biscuits to comfort eat (prescription ones of course:p )
