Yes thanks pinklady, we are boring,;) the sites we like are quiet and full of oldies:o
We take our dog, and conbine a break with visiting family and friends at the same time. Its great as we go back to our own space and that way we never overstay our welcome.

I love the code breaking, so I will be watching. We should have a prize for the quickest. :T
RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxx
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

chris yes i shall be booking a week hopefully at easter for my brothers code and we shall tag along with him. We went to ruda last year it was great but bit cold in april.

i am hoping to get a week in butlins minehead in term time so hopefully might get one. Yes we like to take our dog too. Do you always declare your dog. I cant believe it costs more to take doggie than it does for ourself.

We used to always declare our dog. ( we lost him last June)
We have a puppy and he is tiny, so no I wont pay for him:o. We have friends that never pay for their dogs, and have never been asked, so this time I shall just try and see what happens.:D

I have a couple of sites in mind 1 in Norfolk which I know is a good one for us, and 2 in Suffolk. Not used the Suffolk ones before though. But Haven are usually pretty good wherever you go I think.

I cant wait, ;) Worse than the kids we are :o

I'm all for grabbing a bargain and if you can get away without paying for your dogs, good luck. My reservations would be that I have a child with quite bad asthma, and he has an allergy to dogs that can cause an attack. We always pay extra to guarantee a caravan that dogs havnt been in. In the past there's been dogs' hairs and the smell of dogs in the van. When we've mentioned it at reception it's because some people don't say that they're taking a dog. Just something to think about..........

I totally agree with you, I have cronic asthma, our dog is classed as an anti alergy breed.
I would never upgrade to a caravan that was a none pet van. Most of the basc vans are used for pet folk, and I will stick to that. It suits us fine, as I said I always paid for my beautiful TJ, and ws allowed to upgrade if i wished, (never did) Our puppydog only weighs in at 2kgs lol a rat weighs more.

But I do take your point, I would never knowingly put a childs health at risk for the sake of a few pounds. xxx

Our dog is a none sheading breed, and is crated, so I know there will be no hairs or mess. x

That's fine and I have nothing against dogs, my family would love one if it wasn't for my son's health. Unfortunately not everyone is as thoughtful as you and do take them to vans where they are not allowed. Just out of curiosity, what breed do you have that doesn't affect your chest?

We have a Bichon Frise, he is our second. As I said we lost our beautiful TJ in June. I said no more, but it was just too quiet without a furfriend.
My Asthma is controlled with a mound of drugs and I use a nebeuliser daily, so you can see its not just a "bad chest" I get.

I cant go into a room with a dog/cat in without it setting off an attack so when we were told about Bichon Frise being anti allergy dogs I didnt really believe it. But all I can say is how glad I was for the information al those years ago.

My Daughter is the same, her Bichon Frise is 4 years old now and she is fine with the breed. like myself other breeds and more so cats set her Asthma off.

Any allergy sufferer wanting a pet should really check these little dogs out. xx

PS I used the same amount of drugs when we were dog free as I use now x

  • Hi, forgot to grab today's code (Sunday 6th Jan) does anyone have it please? Also, any advice on parks that are good for families with young children (I have children 5 ranging from 1 to 13!). Been to Skegness Butlins before and loved it, great with the free fair and massive adventure playground there was something for everyone but I haven't been able to book it for the last 2 offers, no dates left :-( . Used to do Haven in Pwllheli but the last time I went a member of staff ran out of the SPAR and threw up all over the pavement right in front of me, then went back inside and continued to serve...with sick splatter still on his shoes! URGHH! It was vile, young lad obviously had a bit too much to drink the night before and that to me summed up the staff there, disinterested in their jobs and more about having a good time, not like the Butlin's staff at all. Also been to Prestatyn Pontins, SO dirty and badly organised would not go again if you paid me! Any advice on parks with good indoor play facilities etc please? Thanks :-)

Thanks for that. My son takes regular medication too. We have thought about non-allergy breeds but I've always been afraid to trust it, just in case. I'd rather not have than to get attatched and have to part with it. Thanks!
