    Hi all,

Hewie - am glad the funeral went as well as could be expected, hope you can manage to take some time for you now - some fabbing treats sound like a good plan x

ww - sounds like your week off is going to be busy! Hope you manage to fit a bit of a relax in :)

bratz - sorry to hear about the fibroid, I think I would be tempted to have the op as well and get it out of the way rather then years of continous treatment (plus if it only shrinks it then you don't know if it might still need removing somewhere down the line) hope you find the right choice for you though x

Rummer - I agree with others on just trying to stick to healthy eating, look at fruit and veg, low fat options for things, lean meat etc (or since I don't eat meat then veggie options like quorn tend to be really low fat). I think we all know what we 'should' be eating - we know what's healthy and what isn't. I think also try not to have anything as 'banned' it's just about moderation - nothing wrong with having a biccie, just not the whole packet :rotfl:also it makes it easier to stick to long term.

Lizzie - *hugs* with the kids' problems, sounds like you have your hands full at the moment x

LL - glad you're starting to feel a bit better, oh and am impressed with your charity shop bargin! I really like per una but they only ever seem to show up in my 'expensive' charity shop at about a fiver a pop. Not had a charity shop mooch in months - never seem to have the time at the moment :(

Anyways, not been having the best few days but was a bit relucant to come on and moan as I know some of you have much bigger problems :( Got a 'no' back from the publishers on my novel, which was a bit disappointing, not even any feedback or hints as to what they didn't like which would have been something to work with. Snowed under with work, had to go out and help OH on a filming job this afternoon and could have done without it really as have a pile of photo work that I have to get finished this weekend plus writing, promo things that have to go back, etc.
Also found out the other lass at work has handed her notice in and since she only has to give two weeks will be off at the end of the month. I doubt they'll even have interviewed by then so looks like I'll probably be in on my own and then have to train up someone new - plus any chance I had of cutting my hours down will be on the backburner for now.
Sorry for the moan, just finding things getting a bit on top of me at the moment. Am supposed to be meeting a friend for a coffee and chat up tomorrow - tbh I should probably cancel and work but will class it as a break for the sake of my sanity :rotfl:
Hope everyone else is doing ok *hugs* to those who need them x

    Good morning

Another beautiful day in the making, the sun is streaming through the window - popped outside to sniff the air and the birds were trilling away merrily. I think I might drag out a chair and enjoy an al fresco "elevenses" today, before I tootle off to see OH later.

Yesterday was good, spent the day sorting out my bookcase and dvd storage unit, then tackled the kitchen cupboards. Everything ship shape now. Just the airing cupboard and then my bedroom drawers to go, but I'll wait until it's raining for those;)

Time to bathe and get fabbing....but first will prep tonight's dinner, and then hit the exercise bike and yoga mat. :rotfl:

PP - You sound really tired and fed up. Time to ease up a bit.
If you can find the time, coffee with a friend sounds like a good idea - sounds like you need a break.

    Have a great day everyone.

Pod - we all need a moan from time to time - at least that yukky woman will be going, that's a positive? Hope your coffee with your friend goes well today. You deserve a break!

Its sunny again here so far today so I've decided to take the dog for a jog/walk along the river path - saw loads of joggers yesterday there and it reminded me of how much I do actually like doing it once I get going. Making the most of the dry weather, it probably won't last.

I signed up for some more walks and Spice events yesterday too - I haven't done very much in Dec/Jan with these groups - I think I went into hibernation winter mode a bit and work went mental but the appearance of the sun and the longer days have motivated me to get off my bum again.

Right, need to have some breakfast so I don't run out of steam after 100 yards and then get going - the dog is currently sitting on my lap snoring so he needs to get going too!

    Morning ladies :)
I don't think I've ever been off MSE for this long unless I was on holiday. Been sort of recuperating but also rather engrossed in a new DVD so rather than spending some of my free time on here I've been sat on my butt reliving childhood crushes and loving it :rotfl:

Some bit of fabbing going on aside from the basics. Am putting the full make up slap on every day without fail now and enjoying it.
Nowt else to report. Still not sold the house but had a few more viewing. So living life in limbo continues :o

Anyway there are lots of posts to catch up on so forgive me if I miss anything :o

Hewie I am glad your mum had a good turn out xxx hugs to you all xx

LL hope your OH is just having a blip x

Bratz my mum had same thing and had to have hysterectomy aged 35. If you're not having a family I'd go for surgery too x

Lizzie hugs, sounds like your struggling. Hope you get a bit of time to yourself soon xx

Pod sorry to hear publisher said no xxx

Apologies if I've missed anything :o hugs and high fives all round xx

  • Just back from a jog with the dog - saw loads of joggers yesterday along the river bank and so decided to go myself properly today.
We did 40 mins of interval training - running for 2 mins then walk for 30 secs - he's only little so didn't want to tire him out too much (that's my excuse anyway :D). He's now retired back to the couch - not sure that's what Couch to 5K is all about :rotfl:
The sunshine, exercise and fresh air did me the world of good and I feel fab now - in fact just about to have a go at the new Tae Bo DVD .

Hope we all have a good day - make the most of the weather!
  • Weighed and measured myself this morning.

In one week I have lost 2lbs, 1 inch from my waist, 1 inch from my hips. Wahoo.:j

    And away we go.

And that is without being even remotely consistent. I only managed to exercise for 5 days and I did have a couple of "bad" days where the healthy eating slipped.

I'm so pleased. I know it's not much and I have a long way to go, but from little acorns, mighty oaks do grow.

WW - I would love to be as fit and as energetic as you are. I'm 20 years older so maybe I will never reach your giddy heights of fitness but I can certainly improve on how I am now.

I was looking at some photos last night of years gone by. I'm still tall (ish) - lost about an inch I would say but I used to be so slender and willowy. I think my figure would now be politely described as "Juno-esque".

I'm lucky I guess in that the curves are still more or less in the right places, not too roly-poly.

Anyway ladies I have set myself a target of 1lb per week, which means I should be able to lose around 3 stones by our Winter Solstice.

So each week I will try and increase my exercise and activity levels just a little bit more.

Managed 1.3 kms on the bike this morning, up from 1km when I first started last weekend.

Onwards and upwards - but no more "outwards".:D

    Hi all,

LL - I need to get back on the wagon as well. Shall buy a new scales this week, and brace myself for the bad news :o Then must get back on the healthy eating/exercise.

ww - wow, that's an energetic day! I've been looking back at the meetup walks again, think will start signing up for a few again now the weather's getting a little better.

Bitsy - sorry there's no good news on the house yet, though the fact you're getting viewing must be a good sign at least. Fingers crossed someone goes for it soon x I'm intrigued now who your childhood crush is :rotfl:

Thanks for the support. I probably do need to ease up a bit but the stuff I have to get done can't really be put off so will be at least another week before it's finished and then not long until the next wedding and the anthology release so will have promo etc for that to sort. Ah well, I think I need to try and get more organised maybe - plan out all my days. My friend cancelled on me for coffee, apparently's she's having a manic weekend as well so asked if we could rearrange for next week or something. I'm going to try and get a few more hours work in now and then might have a bit of a walk or something to get me out of the house (nothing quite as energetic as WW :rotfl:).
Hope everyone is having a good day x

    Well done:T:T
It bonkers how much a little movement on the scales can change your mindset isn't it? I've always been the same way too.

Have given the house a good clean and have lots of windows open to get a breeze blowing through - can't remember the last time we were able to do that.

Done the Tae Bo DVD - good fun and quite hard, lots of over excited American women whooping behind the instructor (who is actually very good) though.

Going to do a bit of schoolwork for an hour or so and then go for a 30 min walk with woofer. He'll sleep tonight!

You're either gonna know who he is or not have a clue :rotfl:
He is however nearly the same age as my dad in real life
However the music on the vid says it all for me <sigh>

    Hello All

I have just come across this thread and have read the first two pages with interest. I know it's late into the challenge but can I join please, I really need to start looking after myself. I was looking through some photos from 10 yrs ago earlier and was shocked at the amount of weight I have put on.......and I've turned into a real scruffbag.

I need some motivation. Please (begging smilie).

    Off to continue reading now.
