Having a crap day, feel stressed, weepy and generally fed up so not really any fabbing of any description.
Just lurking and saw LL mentioned her needing to use oilatum. Can I suggest coconut oil? If you are near to any Asian supermarkets they sell it there or you can pay more and get it from holland and barratt. It's fantastic stuff and 100% edible. I got much longer lasting results from using it.
Lizzie hugs for your DD, no advice am afraid x
EH hugs for you, it's def his loss x

Wasn't going to post as I didn't have anything much to say - just wanted to give a virtual pat on the back and a friendly hug to those that are struggling, stressed or having a bad day. Sometimes life just sucks.:(
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you all. xx
PS I have "for best" toiletries - they hardly ever get used so I'm going to try using them up as of tomorrow. Posh shower gel to start (part of a perfume gift set).0 -
Bitsy - hugs XX Hope you feel better soon, it's really tough when your partner works away and you are left on your own to hold the fort and manage everything.
Thanks for the tip about coconut oil. I'd forgotten just how much I love the smell. I used to use Inecto coconut oil body lotion and Sainsbugs coconut soap. Not seen either for a long time.
When my sister was in NZ she couldn't get coconut soap so I used to send her a "Red Cross" parcel of coconut products every so often.
I used to sit next to a young man in college when I was doing my degree. He had long hair which was his pride and joy. He washed it every day in coconut shampoo -he smelt wonderful.:D
I feel a little shopping trip coming on........
Well - pleased to say I have taken it easy today, got my hair cut and just pottered about and it seems to have paid off. Now feel much better.0 -
Hi everyone and I hope we all perk up a little as the daylight increases.
I love the cocoa bath melts I made although they do make a mess of the bath they work a treat for moisturising.
I'm at work experiencing major IT problems hence popping on my phone to pass some time.
Managed to do Shred last night which is hard going on extreme level 2 and its a day off exercise today which my legs are grateful for!
Also - I always had a pile of 'best' toilettries that were never used and now I make sure I use every single one including my best perfume that I wear at weekends. Afterall, they are thete to be used not kept in my drawer!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Fabbing for me today:
1. Shower, hair washed, face washed, moisturised.
2. Hair done, perfume.
For this evening:
1. Take some time out for reflection and meditation. Write a gratitude list.
2. One hour max of prep work for school.
3. Walk around block - 30 mins
I will be having an early night too.0 -
Good morning ladies,
Up with the lark this morning (swoon) which is good for me at this time of the year
House tidied, washing on the line, coffee in hand with cat on lap for his morning fuss as we watch the birds eating their seeds, I'm sure my cats thoughts are different to mine :rotfl::rotfl: He cannot reach the bird tray!
Lizzie, sorry about your daughter, I hope all goes well.
LL, how are the pains in your chest, better I hope?
Bitsy, I hope you are feeling better now?
Hugs to all that need them.
Interested about the comments re skin care. On recommendation I have been using Aldi moisturiser on my face for a couple of years without any problem. Recently I noticed the texture is now different and my face tends to feel dry after a few hours. I think I will return to good old Olay, just have to stock up when it's on offer!
If anyone is interested Boots have Bio oil on offer.
OK, need to get showered, scrubbed and slathered, will pop in later.

Morning all,
maman - I don't really have products I use for 'best'. I don't buy anything that expensive so I just use whatever I have at the time. I am quite bad for buying something when I still have half of one left though so am trying to use up all the half-full bottles in the bathroom at the momentShower gel-wise I tend to just buy things like the Radox moisturising ones - you can see them on offer quite a bit so I tend to just pick them up then. Body lotion, I'm currently on the Garnier cocoa butter one, it's good for the price (got again on offer though lol) and I like the smell. Though might have a look for the coconut oil now
I love coconut products, have a cheapie coconut conditioner (think it's Alberto or something) that make my hair smell lovely.
Lizzie - hope your dd gets somewhere with the hospital and can find another job in the meantime. If you think about how much of the week we can spend at a full time job then it's a long period to be miserable/stressed out - not to mention the fallout into the rest of your life. Hopefully she can somewhere that suits a bit better x
Bitsy - *hugs* hope you're ok hun. Really hope something can get sorted with the house soon, can't be easy 'holding the fort'.
Carmen - sounds like a nice start to the morningGlad your kitty can't reach the table, my mum and dad used to have lots of birds they fed until two stray cats 'adopted' them :rotfl:The cats will actually sit inside the bird table (one of the little house ones!) - thankfully no birds seem quite stupid enough to come down but they don't put food out anymore.
Didn't have the best night's sleep, kept up coughing for a lot for it. Woke myself up properly about 2am, had to get up to dose on cough syrup and bung the heating on high so got a bit of sleep after that (though was probably an oven for poor OH :rotfl:). Feeling a bit better today though.
Managed a bit more writing last night, no fabbing thoughI'm starting to think I shouldn't be on here as I just don't seem to be getting anywhere with it! I know I don't have much time spare at the moment but it's just being organised surely? Feel free to give me a good kick
Oh and muggins here was talking to a friend yesterday about her wedding in May (she was asking for my address for invites) and we got onto the subject that she didn't have a proper photographer as she couldn't afford one so was just going to ask her guests to take lots. Guess who's doing it now? :rotfl:I think I'm destined never to have a non-working wedding again!
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Good morning everyone
Snowing here.
I'm having an at home day, waiting in for a delivery of a couple of book-cases. Will then have a happy time sorting out my books and bits and pieces .
Still got some chest pain but not as bad, still lots of back and shoulder pain though. I just feel like a right old crock at the moment:o
Roll on spring and some nice warm sunshine - my old bones are crying out for some warmth.
I've started exercising gently and it is helping. Unfortunateiy I'm not very patient - I want instant results.:rotfl:
I'll get there - just have to remember the elephant. At the moment I'm just concentrating on trying to eat healthily, rest, plenty of sleep, a bit of gentle exercise, some fabbing.
Hopefully a couple of months of this and then some decent weather and I should be stronger and fitter.
There's nothing medically wrong with me as such - I think I'm just worn out with all the stress, the worry and emotional turmoil.
I am very concerned about OH - he seems to be getting weaker by the day. Are we on the final furlong now or is it just another blip. Only time will tell.
Ladies - some of us seem to be struggling a little. I think it's just the time of the year.
I think the fag end of the winter is always hard - and I think this one seems to have dragged on forever......
But - if you look closely you will see the bulbs are poking out from the ground, the buds are forming on trees and shrubs, the days are getting longer.
Mother Nature is just resting. Spring is just round the corner and pretty soon we will all feel reborn.;)0 -
Wow its quite quiet on here today. I hope everyone is having a good day. Tonight I am planning on doing some baking and then having some meditation time and an early bed. Fab wise the early bed is basically it!!0

Yet another parents evening for me today so a lovely 12 hour day:( I am officially kn*ckered.
The dog is shattered too - he's been on a "play date" all day - dropped him off at 7.30am and picked him up at 8pm - been playing with my friend's dog all day as his partner only works part time and looked after the dogs while we were both on a marathon slog.
Had a soak in the bath and will have an earlyish night - two more days to half term.......can't come quickly enough;)0
