i cant believe they would do that LL! thats appalling behaviour from people who are supposedly caring for somebody.
i wore a dress to work today  mainly because nothing else was washed and i felt SO self conscious all day but hey ho, baby steps!0 -
LL I am so sorry to hear about your experience with the home. The behaviour is totally appalling. Glad you have at least here to vent when needed. I too have written posts on here through tears. It really does help though!
I have pretty much lost it with the regular fabbing and I ate the biggest load of cr*p at the weekend. I really need to take myself in hand and get myself organised.
On the plus side, it is snowing here again and I am enjoying just sitting here in front of the fire browsing through the forums.0 -
Welcome Sam:)
Verynewmoneysaver sorry about your Dad ((Hugs))
Glad you enjoyed the wedding PP
LL glad OH is alittle brighter and you're feeling a bit less stressed.
Well the snow is coming thick and fast here again! Still have the dog to walk though actually I enjoy walkng in the snow.Apart from yoga class later I'm having an indoors day, watching a film with DD2 later. Did txt my (ex)? friend back I think she was fishing for info about the family - no idea why but I just kept it polite and didn't tell her anything I didn't want to. If contact is just limited ti the odd 'how are you txt' I can cope with that.
Right off to meditate:) Have a good day.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Morning all,
LL - glad OH seems a bit brighter. The POA for him sounds like a good plan though, then at least you'll have that behind you if anything like this ever happens again!
Hmm, well a rest would be nice but with the pile of things I have to get done it's not looking very likely :rotfl:
Sam - welcome! Am sure you'll get lots of ideas from reading through and the perfume and make up is a good start already.
very - sorry about your dad, but sounds like he's being well looked after at least. My grandma's the same at the moment - managed to see her when I was down last week, she's moved from the hospital into a home which does seem nicer but she keeps getting anxious and confused. She'll be asking to go home all day but then buzzing the nurses all night as she doesn't want to be on her ownShe did seem a little better then she was at xmas (I really didn't think I'd see her again to be honest!) but she's very up and down - eg she remembered that I was coming down that week and that it was for a wedding, but then said to me 'isn't it about time you got a bf?' - I've only been with OH for 12 years :rotfl:
evil - am sure you looked fab in the dress! Should not do the washing more often.
allie - I've been the same lately, seem to have no food motivation! Must get organised, get a big shop in and do some meal planning for the week.
Lizzie - snowing here as well, on and off since yesterday. I don't mind 'snowy' snow but there's just a bit settling and then going slushy and slippery - I have the worse balance anyway so end up skidding all over! Re, your friend, if you don't expect anything much from her then it's easier to put up with. I have a few friends that I call my 'light and fluffy' ones :rotfl:They'll disappear for months on end and then pop back up again, we might go out and have a drink and a chat about light, surface things - and sometimes that's nice and can provide a bit of a break - but I wouldn't rely on them for anything important or talk to them about too personal things. I know some people have told me that they couldn't do that, so I guess it's personal preference, but as long as you take it for it is and don't expect anything more then their flakiness doesn't bother me as much.
Anyway, skidded through the snow to the writer's group last night. Quite enjoyed it, was a talk about historical research for novels, and some very interesting points. Didn't get back until getting on for 10pm though and by the time had had a catch up with OH then wasn't much time for much else before bed. Have choir tonight as well so probably much the same - must get back to work tomorrow night! Have to do final checks, author interviews etc on one of my anthology ones, photo edits to get finished, OH wants some help with some film edits, then must get back to the actual writing
Also some friends of mine have a recording studio and need to pop down there on Sat to have a look at one of their upstairs rooms with a possibility of using as a photo studio. Would be really good for both of us if it's suitable as they don't use it much and where I used to use wasn't really suitable for families or anything like that. So hopefully can't start advertising again for studio shoots next week and get a bit of extra money in
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Good morning all
vnms - sorry to hear about your dad, it's so sad to see them like that isn't it.
Well no snow yet. I just slugged around last night so really need to get my act together today.
Have just done a quick blitz, now going to prep dinner for tonight then after some lunch get down to the dreaded bill paying, paperwork and phone calls.
I'm on here procrastinating when I should be knuckling down and getting things done.:o
Right I'm going to get cracking.
Have a great day.0 -
PP I won't be meeting (ex) friend I don't want that asI can't cope with the constant pleading of poverty mingled with 'I've just bought ..... 'and then telling me how much it was. She used to say she was skint in one breath and in the next she'd spent £500 on something! That on top of the lack of thought for my situation was the reason I backed off.
Have weighed myself this morning - no loss. I haven't put any on though. I'm hoping it's due to the meals out I've had in Jan (we had a few birthdays this month). I have one more to go to this week ( my xmas pressie from DS1) then I should be back to normal eating so hopefully I will start to lose again. Also haven't been walking as fast some of the time due to the snow and ice underfoot so hopefully can step that up too.
DD2 has the chance of helping with someones horses again and we are going to see if it's suitable later. Unfortunately I've developed a bit of a phobia about her riding and one of these horses isn't even broken in.:eek: I'm not sure the horse's owner realizes she will need some help at least at first. She has ridden some difficult horses in her lessons (think this is where my unease has come from!) but I think it's different controlling a horse in the meange than when you are in a field. She's really keen but I'm just not sure she's experienced enough, trouble is she'd agree to anything even if unsuitable just so she could be near a horse. Don't want to discourage her but I need to try and strike a balance between her eagerness and safety and it means I may have to go with her (at least at first) and I know horses sense when your uneasy which isn't ideal. On the plus side she has had a few replies to her ads so she could end up with a choice it's just that this one is quite near home.
Very tired today - woke at 5ish to H snoring and couldn't get back off again. Must get an early night later to catch up.
Have agood day everyone.:)Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Afternoon All. Have had a good think to myself, after looking at my very pale face with huge dark circles this morning. I need to get back to some basics. To make a start, once I am home from work I will:
1. Have a proper dinner - last night I just had two bits of toast, a bag of crisps and some popcorn:eek:.
2. Have a walk - just a short walk around the block as a minimum.
3. Shower, cleanse face.
4. Take some time to properly relax and listen to one of my Paul McKenna CDs.
I also need to draw up a list of clothes I need. I tend to avoid buying clothes as I find it so hard to shop for them, being only 5ft and overweight, and I really need some new shoes.0 -
I know how you feel Allie - I'm a bit frayed around the edges too.:o
Had my official teaching observation today - was given the outcome just before I went home - got an Outstanding!:j:j:j Very chuffed - at least some of the hard work has paid off.
Feel like I can relax a bit now - its been bonkers for weeks. Only 1 more week to the half term holiday to go.:)
Going to have a nice long bath, a big Baileys to celebrate and a flop on the sofa. Was up at 5am so I'm quite tired now - roll on the weekend!0 -
I too can't wait for the weekend either after a very hard week at work this week. Can't wait for the weekend to arrive and have a quiet pottering around weekend a relax watching rugby, walking the dog and some exercise too.
Well my good news is got some uni work ready for submission tomorrow at long last then a wait to find out if I have been approved to proceed. Really pleased to have got to this point and enjoying a relaxing evening where I am not thinking about uni or job applications for a change!
Its my weigh in day tomorrow - don't think I will have lost any more as have been a bit chocciholicaly the last 2 weeks - must be the busy busy life I've had for that time to increase my snackiness and choccy appetite

Congratulations WW on your 'outstanding' assessment. I am sure it is well deserved.
Up early this morning and shower done. Just about to have breakfast and then I will go and get my face cleansed and put some make-up on. This is the first I will have put make up on in a while!
My half term is this weekend - we get a whole one day off! I am taking advantage of the long weekend by travelling up to Skye. Looking forward to it. I have already booked in with one of the local salons for a pedicure!0
