Hi all,
Carmen - I need to buy some new scales so just being lazy I guess, needs a trip into town to Argos or something.
LL - was wondering if the sleep thing might be stress, particularly since have had really bad stomach ache the last few days as well and that can be related with me. Am not that frazzled at the moment really though - compared to the last several months I'm actually fairly quiet at the moment!
Esmy - well done the weight loss and resisting the temptation of the biscuit tin! (tends to be my downfall as well) :jI'm another one wishing for lighter nights, used to walk/jog home along the canal last year which would take me almost door to door - but pitch black and a bit creepy at this time of year
mineallmine/Sky - I have heard about that actually and it probably does contribute as I have the pc next to the bed and the tv on a lot. I often end up dozing off to the tv as a lot of the time when I struggle to sleep it's because I can't shut my mind off so I find something on in the background 'distracts' me from my own thoughts racing round.
Anyway, managed maybe 3-4hrs last night, which isn't great but better then the last few so I guess I'll take it! Felt slightly better this morning but can feel the tiredness setting in nowAm debating whether to go to choir or not, would rather go home to bed tbh - but then would I sleep? :rotfl:Have been doing better on the healthy eating, had veggie fajihitas last night (ok, maybe the sour cream and cheese added wasn't the most healthy but overall surely not that bad?) just something quick and simple tonight I think - maybe jacket pot. Not done any exercise and definately no decluttering. Hopefully will get some energy for later in the week and can get onto things. Oh, and have ordered a netbook off ebay - am really excited, have been after a laptop for ages but no money. This was a little smaller than I was aiming for but didn't have to spend much over my xmas money so can justify that :rotfl:Hope it comes soon!

And lots of it and cheese and crisps and wine - I am on my knees with tiredness and need to stuff my face:rotfl:.
Still it's all done, my old house cleaned, garage emptied and stuff taken to the tip, a shed load of books to the charity shop. I had a few pangs about some of them but my lovely sister was with me and helped me to be strong and resolute. Keys handed to EA all ready for Legal Completion tomorrow.
I'm sitting here surrounded by boxes and chaos and I look (and probably smell:D) like something the cat has dragged in. Too bad - I'm too shattered to care.
I thought I might be a bit tearful at living our lovely family home - 24 years is a long time, but I suppose our home lost a bit of it's magic for me when OH went into a nursing home. It was still my cosy nest of course but somehow it was never quite the same when OH was no longer there.
Tonight I shall lie prostrate on the sofa too exhausted to even cook so it's bacon butties for tea.
And then - tomorrow - my new life begins;).0 -

Hope you're not too sad my dear, enjoy your new home - it sounds lovely.
I really want choccie too - am off for a hot chocolate now and I feel so tired today so not much to report apart from a little house fabbing later - the ironing - and an early night with the usual skincare routine of course!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Happy new home LL - I'm sure you will be happy there.0 -
Hi all
LL - glad the move has gone well.
Well it never rains but it pours in the Hewie household. I have been having trouble with my neck for years and the normal doc didn't know what the problem was, anyway I saw a locum one day who decided that I needed an xray and then I had to have an MRI scan. I saw the consultant yesterday and I have chiari malformation, this I have had from birth, and only manifests in early adulthood. Bascially part of my brain is in my spinal cord and sudden coughing or laughing can cause the brain to get squashed. I have to see another specialist at a bigger hospital who will then go through my options. there are a few forms of this and I only have the mild one. Now that I have read up about this it makes alot of sense to all the things that have been going on in my body over the past few years. The only thing that its not the cause of is weight gain. - Damn!!
Quick update on mum, she is going into a nursing home on Monday, this is so much nearer to home, in fact its so close to me that I can walk there and hubby can toot as he passes on his way to work. She is doing as well as can be expected. Thanks for all your wishes.
Started my healthy lifestyle plan yesterday and starting to feel good, just gearing myself up to do some exercise now, not doine any since mum got poorly in November and have a feeling its gonna hurt.
Hugs to those who need them, and have a good evening.Chiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Huge hugs to you Hewie. Boy you really have had a lot to deal with. Now crack on with that healthy eating. It will help your energy levels and prep you for any next steps. Such good news that Mum is nearer. :A
Hope to reach the target of 500 LL. It's providing a challenge but I'm getting there. By setting it so high I know it will involve me having to get rid of some childhood things. One thing that is spurring me on is if something has a bad memory associated with it. I've got rid of lots on that basis. Just sort one box at a time in your new home LL. How exciting to have this new start. Plus think how much easier it will be next time you move when you have streamlined everything
So I wasn't dreaming about the light thingPerhaps we need to listen to a radio to help us sleep and switch those devices off. I'm going to make sure I'm off of MSE in 10 minutes!
Did my daily walk. Getting more used to doing it. Helps that the dog almost taps an imaginary watch to say I think you'll find its time for our walk
Had a healthy breakfast of fresh pineapple. Had a bacon and tomato sandwich with wholemeal bread lunchtime. Then messed up this evening. Never mind. Just one meal. I've stopped buying crisps. I have a stash of xmas chocolate but I'm having only a little bit. Plus as part of decluttering I've regifted some of them!
Take it easy all. By the way has anyone noticed how utterly focused we all are. It's good isn't it.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hewie - sorry to hear about your neck issues. I had similar with my doctor, I've had mild scoliosis since birth and it wasn't picked up until I was about 26. Of course had they discovered it in childhood it could have been sorted instead of telling me for years it was growing pains.
LL - well done on the move and good luck for unpacking!
Well I made it to the gym last night, and really pushed myself. I felt great afterwards. Sometimes I hum and ha about going but I always feel so much better after and am always glad I pushed myself to go.carpe diem

Hewie - so sorry to hear your latest bombshell. At least you've got a diagnosis now and can get some treatment. Do take care.
Glad to hear your mum is being made comfortable and is being well looked after.
Well now - it's cold but glorious here. I'm housebound waiting for the fridge freezer so it's washing machine on, roll up my sleeves and make a start on those pesky boxes. At least I will have time to prepare a nice healthy casserole with vegetables :rotfl:
Have a great day.0 -
*sighs* Is turning into one of those days! Apologies for the mini rant!
Me and OH were invited to the wedding of a friend back in England which we have been umming about for weeks as, one they only 'confirmed' at the start of the month so can't get the cheapest trains now so weren't sure if we could afford it and, two it's the first night of OH's first choir concert which I'm supposed to be filming. It is a two night show though so we decided if we could manage the money we would go and just do the second night. Then OH's parents said they were going to come up for the show so they could give us a lift back on the Sat. Great, saves money so it's all go - confirmed with friend, told choir we would just be there for the second one etc.
He's spoken to his parents today and they started saying how they'd quite like to come up for a bit longer so 'might come up on the Thurs now' but don't worry we could still stay at their house. Nothing to do with the house, we can stay at my mum's or various friends, was the transport costs that were the main thing. Urgh!0
