    Just PM'd TG.

    Start £53,300.48
Now £29,287.12 (whoo hoo, hadn't noticed was sub 30k :)
    Paid off £24,013.26

Back on track, should just hit overall target of £25,400 on 1st Feb, so a few months early :T. V happy & shows my tough target was pretty spot on... off to see how I calculated it :o

    Can I join please :D .

I need to pay off around 5k of 'debt' as OH has contributed more to 'pot' than me & I'm stubborn & independent  .

That WILL be done by 31st Dec, then OH will match me £ for £. But, my commitments are increasing in other areas in Sept . Hmmmmmm......

    OK, 2 full years @ 200 a month x 2 of us, £9600. Plus Jan - March 2010 @ 200 a month x 2, £1200. Plus the 5k I'm paying this year, = £15,800. Plus all the extra odds & sods & peefer the mortgage pig & pigsback & quidco .

OK - my detailed financial analysis gives me a target of £20,000 please DD! (Which is pretty pants compared to some of you _pale_)

Hmmm, this somehow appeared on chart as £25,400 . I met the 20k target in August 09 :). Methinks DD thought I could achieve more so upped it, so thanks DD :rotfl:

  • I've moved over to the MFiT T2 thread, having sold the house I was paying off on this thread and moved to a lovely bigger house with a huge mortgage. But I keep subscribed to this thread to see how everyone's doing.

I'm on the South coast, with lots of snow, and a lovely head cold so haven't walked into work despite it being less than two miles. I'm sure the world won't stop without me this week. With either the cold or the bad weather I'd have gone in, but with both it'll just make me worse (as well as possibly sharing it with others), so it's the grown up decision. That my reasoning and I'm sticking to it!

On a more MSE note, I'm getting used to having an offset mortgage, with all savings bar the cash ISAs in there. I can still match the mortgage rate with a fixed rate ISA, so have gone for the long-term tax advantage of that, and a spreadsheet which shows it offset against the new 5-year fixed rate mortgage.

Good luck, everyone, whether you're trying to be mortgage-free or, like me, enabling yourself to buy or do something else.

I didn't give a number for the last update as I have made the decision not to count some of my savings in this challenge anymore (I want a bigger safety net of money to live on if I don't get further funding for my job next year) so my numbers have actually gone up! :o

Do you still want my numbers... Technically I've still met my target (11k off) as my start was £56k (as it included a bathroom loan/savings) and my actual mortgage was just under £45k as of the 1st Jan. :p I just feel a bit odd about my decrease being less...
