  • A quick hi from me. I never post much in here, as my thinking is that if you're desperate to read what I'm up to, you would read my diary...

So, as we near December and 2009 is coming to an end, I'm aiming for a year end mortgage balance of £48,500, which I don't see any reason why I won't achieve. For the remaining few months, I'm now hoping that our mortgage will end up at about £45,000 come 1st April 2010, possibly even slightly less than £45k.

Close, but not quite the £35,000 I was hoping for, but I always knew £73,217 to £35,000 ie a £38,317 reduction was a big ask on one wage.

Nice to see that so many people are meeting or exceeding their objectives and so many people have become mortgage free.

    Financial Bliss.
Mortgage and debt free. Building up savings...
  • :j:jCongratulations DW for your mortgage free success!!!:j:j

By the way, my (then) Virgin OneAccount helped me pay off £15k additional payments per year for two years without any penalties, so I too are grateful for the account.

    Stay in touch!!!

Financialbliss - £25k reduction is not to be sniffed at by any means - well done you!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    Congratulations on becoming mortgage free.
I'm another who couldn't have done it without this thread, and of course a bit of help from the mortgage interest rate drop that none of us would ever have predicted.;)

i have met my target a little early and am about to go sub-80k.

trouble is the overpayments seem to be going on anything but:rolleyes: at the moment - generally trying to get the house in order (quite literally).

will have to get off my bottom and go into ebay-frenzy next year. after all i've probably got enough stock to sell for quite a few months;).

Just checked and I should be back on track in January, just in time for the end of challenge. Feeling pretty chuffed as accidentally spent over 9k of offset on a car last year :o.

Will be great to see the final figures in the spring, come on folks, final push now :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
