Do you always use new packaging for Amazon Marketplace sales? I only read that 'rule' yesterday, and it offends my recycling principles so I'm a bit torn now! I never use tatty packaging, but re-use jiffy bags.
Oh I never knew about that rule? I have 3 things listed now, but never listed on Amazon before.... Hmmm.
Well I made around £40 on Ebay!!!Dream of being mortgage free....

I never even knew you could seel via Amazon - new or old envelopes.
Must read up more on this - we have DD's sparring gear she's grown out of sitting gathering dust - it cost a lot of money and is like new, someone would benefit from it, I'm sure, I know I never managed to find decent second hand stuff when we bought hers..

if anyone is back from holiday and spent a bit less than they thought they would, why not put those extra Euros/Dollars into the mortgage? You can always take it out again when you need it??Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Amazon is good for selling books, but ebay have a 10-day free-listing event until 31 Aug, so it would be agreat time to put stuff on there without having to go for the normal 99p free listing - you can set the minimum for the price you'd be happy to accept. Great opportunity for a clear out!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Hello to everyone, just got paid so was able to pay £1k this month so balance now £5,500.
This month has been expensive as I paid gas and electric up front for the year to save 5% and bought a laptop for OH birthday, also did a lot of decorating. So, anyone up for a 'skint month' this Sept to kick start our challenge?!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

September is usually a 'skint month' for us because we have car insurance to pay, which always feels like we have to cut back to pay for it, but in reality it's only a couple of hundred quid, usually with a juicy Quidco cashback to follow in a few months.
However, September is a good month - no new clothes to buy unless it's a good buy in the summer sale for Winter hols, of course!
School uniform all bought as Scottish schools are back already, no winter boots needed for DD just yet, just 'card' birthdays rather than 'present' birthdays this month too.:beer:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Come on people, we're slipping back to the third page of this forum- let's not get lost in all the diaries of people starting to pay a bit extra on their mortgages - let's post an update to remind ourselves how far we've come from being new to MFi3 like the others on this board, and give them a bit of inspiration!!:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Good idea Ailuro2! I keep popping on to see how you guys are all doing but no action here for the past few weeks really....
I don't know about anyone else but it is hard going at the mo, I have felt in a bit of a rut with the challenge but I start a new job and a uni course this month so maybe it will energise me and refresh the challenge for me.
I've got 5 1/2k to go... how's about you guys?Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

I'm still waiting for the legal wheels to turn on my house purchase, which will see my outstanding borrowing shoot up to close to £300k - I've now been 'really close' to exchange for two months, so a bit on edge!
The existing mortgage has been coming down nicely, and I've been starting to mystery shop to add a few extra quid each month as my budget is so finely tuned now (excepting the car maintenance incidents) I felt I wasn't making 'new' progress.
What other news updates are out there?! Good luck with the job and uni course, Desperate Housewife!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Hi there, I know what you mean DesperateHousewife about getting into a bit of a rut with the challenge. Our wedding blew us off course this summer, but we'll be straight again by October and back to where we were. I'm still around £30k ahead of plan though so still going well I think. I have redecorated DS's room this week too. That has been quite costly, as we needed a new carpet and he will need new bedroom furniture too. In the grand scheme of things it isn't too bad - he's 14 next month and his current bedroom has Pokemon border and stickers on it . I suppose we made it last as long as possible
.
Car insurance month this month for me too, and I'm having a cheapie holiday in Portugal as well, so I'm not exactly scratching around to overpay this month. However, I'll get my insurance via Quidco and I'll be chhecking my gas and electricity tariffs too as I switched to Scottish Power last summer and now it seems I'll be 'locked in' if I don't switch out before the end of September. Just been outside to read my meters - the neighbours will think I'm a nutcase, skulking around at midnight with a torch.
Keep on keeping on! Good luck with the new job and Uni course DesperateHousewife.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Totally agree next update is in October so I want as many as possible to send in their updates. Lets inspire the newbies lets face it that is how must of us got into this by reading about how others had done it.
I have reduced the amount we are paying off the mortgage has DH work situation looks a bit tricky at the moment but we are still on course to pay it off my 01.04.10. Is nice to only have £3000 left to pay in these troubled times.
Just got 3 Mystery Shops so that is £30 and we had a free meal last Sunday at another one.Save £12k in 25 No 49
