No 92 reporting in.....our balance now stands at £5512, hoping to get it paid off next month or the month after.0

I've overpaid £7510.1, mortgage was £43,000 and is now £35489.90. I cashed in an isa and paid it to the mortgage - I'm now on Nationwide's SVR equivalent, so can do that without penalty. There's also a little automatic overpayment every month now, because about £3000 of that overpayment hasn't gone to reduce the monthly payments, it reduces the amount outstanding instead. I've asked Nationwide how much that is, in writing, but they can't seem to cope with that question. I'll ask again, and try to work it out in the meantime.
Am pm'ing TG the same info now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
We have moved and we are currently in rented as we are doing a delayed completion so at the moment we don't have a mortgage. But in 5 days we are moving in to our new house so will get our mortgage back and it is £128008. I should then be able to start paying it off again
Well done everyone

Hi guys,
I got a job, starting October, and my last month of grant cheque will cover the first month. Yippee.
I will have to live away from home during the week, and run our house costs if my hubby doesn't get a job, but hey, things are going in the right direction!

Great news, FG!
My house sale has just fallen through, so my mortgage will be staying low for a while longer - we'd just had the offer through, too, for the £300,000 mortgage! Fingers crossed another buyer appears out of thin air and I can get my move back on track. In the meantime, this mortgage will shrink yet further and I'll not have to move over to the MFIT Take 2 thread yet! (Can you tell I'm trying to see the positive in this, instead of being all cross and frustrated?!)Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
must to give everyone an update
I've gone form a 97k mortgage, reduced to ~40k iirc to £223000 reduced to 220000, but now with two houses.
And the best thing is, I'm effectively mortgage free on the old house now (If I sold my new house I could clear my original mortgage)No longer an accidental landlord, still a wannabe millionaire:beer:

I PM'd TallGirl a while ago now, but posting updates in-thread seems to be in vogue, so here it is: as at 28 June 2009, our mortgage balance stood at £24,999.05. We're now on course to meet our original target of £14,764.13 in around five or six months - at least three months ahead of the end of the challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing our row go green early on the table.0

Thanks for the chart TG. I just managed to squeeze in - I had forgotten about the update for June until I was checking out MSE for something else today.
We have just about got all our costs together for our recent wedding and have done the sums to work out how much we spent. Not too scary I'm pleased to say. However, now we are firmly focused on reducing the mortgage again. (We lost focus for a few months back there.)
I have just emptied out my silver piggy bank and will take the change to the bank tomorrow - only £5 but better than nothing! I'm also going to sell the waistcoats and boys suits that we bought for the wedding. I need to get them photographed whilst it is still the season for weddings. My neice is being christened next Sunday, so I may get DS to wear his suit again if he can be persuaded.
Unfortunately the day I returned to work after my honeymoon we had some bad news that may mean we cease to exist as an organisation next March. I'm trying to stay positive and hope something will come up, but at least I'm well ahead on my mortgage and can take a break on payments if I need to. Hope it won't come to that though.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
