:hello: Hi! Not been on here for a long while but thought I would update our progress
we started off in august 2007 with a mortgage of 120,000 then re- mortgaged in September for £85,000 paying off £20,000 and this weekend paid down 10% bringing the total down to £76,500 :j Now it's back to saving hard to pay down the next 10% - have £15 so far! :rotfl:but you have to start somewhere! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hi,
I just want to make a small confession...
I think this MFiT thing has really got under my skin
You might remember that in my last post, I said me and Mr FG were both unemployed (I am now going to be a student but with a grant so that's another matter) and we were despondent about the fact that the One Account balance was going to go in the wrong direction....
Anyway, I decided to make the numbers look better by stashing our savings pots in the account, plus getting the OH to put all his savings in (for future course fees etc). To my great surprise, when it all got added up together, it came to 5K, so our balance is now sub5K
It's only going to stay like that for about a couple of weeks until the next DDs come out but hey, it's cheering me up

Hi Andrinaperry,
I replied to your question on the 23rd August (think it's post number 3521), suggesting going over to the 2008 MFW, as this challenge is over half way through

this is the link to the one you are looking for - it's for people wanting to be MF starting their journey in 2008.
The first MFi3 folk are over halfway through, as Freedom Girl says, the newer thread is a bit more enthusiastic - we're in the boring long haul bit now, not the first flush of mortgage overpayment joy!!
Good Luck all the same.
On a MFi3 note - me and DH are down to 4 figures!!!! :j
Updated my sig.:D. looking good for being MFi3 just in time for my 40th, but don't think we'll make it in time for hubby's, although notionally we would be there as we have shares that could be cashed in to cover the last 3K, but it's not worth cashing them in at the moment while they're so low value.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
